Welcome Shawn Marion #31

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Marion's release in 2K isn't difficult, it's probably as fast as many would like most people's jump shots to be actually.

And on FTs, watch when he brings his knees together.

LeBron's actually gives me a lot of trouble :chuckles:

I'm so fucking sick of hearing about the Spurs. Yeah, they're the champs, but let's stop acting like they've been unbeatable the last few years.

Funny the west is so freaking amazing but the whole conference has such a problem with one old ass team that has basically had the same strengths and weaknesses for a decade

Lol, man. The spurs are actually being talked about only come playoff time. There is no hype in that team at all. If they are being talked about now that is because they are the champs. Sorry for the ot. Welcome matrix!

Not entirely true. They went from a defensive juggernaut to an offensive juggernaut. They entirely changed the way they play over the years.

People are pulling the Spurs card out their ass now because they are angry the Cavs happened so it's the only argument they have that won't make them look stupid

Sorry, your comment is a little lost on me. There are either too many periods or not enough words. Come playoff time they will be talked about? Or come playoff time there won't be any hype?

But if you're saying they're being talked about because they just won the title then yeah, that's fair. What I'm sick of is the circle jerk of them being an unstoppable force everytime someone mentions Cleveland

I think if the Cavs can utilize Miami's trap defensive scheme, it'll be enough to take them to the level they need to be with or without the addition of a back up defensive C. LeBron knows that defensive scheme inside and out, and it was mostly about excessive effort and being able to recover on time to play help-side defense. Every teams have weaknesses, and the Heat defense were only good for two years. If the Cavs plays hard enough on the defensive end, the need for an interior defensive big won't really matter that much this season. The few weaknesses that Miami had were, they had the tendency to gave up open 3's and couldn't secure defensive rebounding. I think we can safely say that the Cavs will be 100x better at rebounding the ball and securing possessions than the Heat ever were in the last four years.
While it was effective it tires the body and is not a good long-term defensive plan. In spurts sure though but LeBron got tired of that defensive system. Players can breakdown quicker and easier

That gets annoying quick. I actually don't think they reach the finals this year and Duncan and Manu will probably retire. The NBA will lose some legendary players and their "reign" will be over

Every team is beatable. The point is, the Spurs plays at a very disciplined, unselfishly, efficient level, and they would have the edge in experience and chemistry over the Cavs if both teams were to make it in the finals. The Cavs have enough talents to win it all the first year like Celtics did back in 08, but the safest bet would be against a team like OKC Thunder or L.A Clippers who don't quite have a real edge against the Cavs. The Spurs are beatable without a question, but you can't underestimate the type of way they play the game, and they'd quite likely be the favorite against any Eastern Conference team. LeBron would be up to the challenge, but I'm not sure if Love, Irving, Dion would be. They've never been at that stage before, and Pop is a brilliant head coach who knows exploit weaknesses.

I agree. They had no interior defense, and their lack of consistent rebounding made it even worse because there were times when they played consistent defense, but failed to secure the ball and gave up a lot of second chance points, and ended up wasted a lot of energy on the defensive end for nothing. The Cavs won't have that problem of playing solid defense and giving up a lot of possessions with Love and AV battling for defensive boards, and LeBron will do his fair share of going after those boards as well. Miami never had rebounders as good as AV and Love in the last four years. I think the Cavs with the exception of Kyrie, have the options to play just as good defensively with LeBron and AV being the anchors on defense in the starting five, and Waiters will do his part and is an above average defender, and eventually, Love will step up and play with a bit more intensity on the defensive end.

Ray Allen was never a good defensive player, but when he went to the Celtics, he had to play defense and bought into the idea that in order to win championships, he needed to be a more well-rounded versatile player, and he did his part even though he got beat plenty of times, but he played harder on the defensive end with the Celtics than he ever did throughout his career, and we'll probably see something similar from Love and Kyrie, and they'll probably play with a bit of chip on their shoulders on the defensive end next season even though they will get lost on the defensive end at times and make a lot of mistakes, but i expect them to buy into the idea that they need to put the team success first before anything else.

The Spurs will NOT be back in the finals this year, mark my words. Father time loses to no one. Timmy said it was very difficult for them to make it back last year, imagine how hard it would be to be back 3 years straight with an "old" big 3. I could see them making it back if they were still in their prime, but they are old and only getting older. I have the Clippers coming out of the West this year and the Cavs of course coming out of the East. Who wins, best of 7, Clippers or Cavs?

I've been consistently counting out the Spurs for the last five years and if there's two things I've learned in that time it's that one: I have no idea what the fuck I'm talking about in regards to basketball and two: Never, ever count out the Spurs. I swear they must have Mike's secret stuff on tap water in San Antonio 'cause they always seem to be able to tweak their system each season to make they sure that they never lose the edge they have and they always get smarter, tighter and better at executing their system. In the meantime you have all the other top teams in the west scouring to give themselves an advantage each year, causing them to always chase last years Spurs and they end up always coming up with what turns out to be dated game plans on how to stop them. With the system the Spurs have right now they are only going to get better and more efficient at it the longer they play, and unless some other team in the west makes some drastic progress I would be very surprised not to see them back in the finals next season.

I am fascinated to see David Blatt coach in the playoffs. During the last LeBron era I never sensed that Mike Brown made any adjustments to the style he played from one round to the next. If LeBron was good enough to win the series, they did. If not, they lost. Blatt by his experience in Israel and in the Olympics has frequently had to adjust for one game to exploit weaknesses on the other side and mask his own. In a 7 game series you would expect Blatt to excel because he has several games to tinker with the rotations and strategy. Obviously coming in his lack of NBA experience will be a detriment, but by playoff time he will have 80+ games to get it figured out. It will be fun.
