Sorry but I see Browns/Jets as a snooze fest week 1 MNF game...

Should be 28-7 by the end of it.

Think you're gonna get blasted for this take.

But, even if the Browns blow out the Jets, it's still a huge story. The Browns are for real! After all the hype this offseason, they backed it up, in front of the whole country, on MNF. Watch out. Every headline is going to be talking Browns and Baker after that.

I wouldn't just assume the Jets are gonna be awful this year. Darnold looked great toward the end of the season.

Not really worried about a team where Jamison Crowder is your top WR and you haven’t had a 10+ sack pass rusher since John Abraham.

MNF is celebrating its 50th season. The Browns and Jets were the first game ever broadcast on Monday Night Football. Add in that this is the NFL's 100th season and the whole of 2019 is going to be one big nostalgia orgy. I don't know what is so hard to understand.

Nothing is hard to understand about that.

I’m just saying it’s a horrible fucking game. Boring.

The Jets stink.

What is so hard to understand?

Plus the 2 best Sophomore Qb's, and the team that showed Baker breaking out.

Honestly Jest vs Browns week 1 MNF is such a perfect match for so many reasons I cant see how they don't do this match up.

The Jets will be a .500 football team this year, they don't stink, it wont be an easy game.

When I watch MNF and SNF I’m looking for two things.

Good team, and star power.

I want to watch Pats vs Chargers and Seahawks-Falcons, Packers-Bears etc.

To me, the Jets don’t have that kind of pull. It’s Bell and... well.... Adams/Darnold??

gross ass team.

I'm not sure why you speak so firmly in absolutes.

1. We can't say for sure whether or not the Jets will be a bad team or good team.
2. Even if they're not a good team, they can still play a good, entertaining game.
3. The story lines are deep on this one. Sometimes, especially with season openers, the story lines are more important. Much more so at the beginning when everyone is 0-0.

Baker vs. Darnold
OBJ returning to NY
Gase and Jarvis
LeVeon Bell on a new team
Greggggg vs. Browns
Jets new jerseys
MNF 50th anniversary

I mean, even if one random, unimportant fan like yourself (I don't mean this badly, just emphasizing the point) look for something specifically, that doesn't mean it isn't a good game to open the season with.

Who gives a fuck? It’s the Browns, our team whose been out of the spotlight for 20 years. You’re bitching about playing the Jets. When was the last time we won in week 1? If they give us a “gross ass team” in the Jets which gives us an easy win, you take it.

Don’t piss in your cereal tomorrow morning

CJ Mosley at LB, Darnold had a very good year 1 at QB, obviously over shadowed, Quincy Enunwa might have a breakout year, like him allot at WR, ofcourse they added Bell, we will see.

NFL is also about tradition, and this is the 1st MNF ever, on the 50th anniversary of Monday night football, Baker vs Darnold, its a perfect matchup.

Or.

And hear me out on this one.

They don’t put the Jets game on MNF and instead give us a much funner game to watch the Browns on MNF....

Not too much to really ask for considering our schedule is packed with potentially awesome games. None of those being the Jets.

This is a lie told to you by the NFL, they don’t really care about anything that happened before the Super Bowl era.

Both things can have a degree of truth though, no?

The super bowl era is absolutely old enough now to have plenty of tradition built up.
