I'm not sure your barber is really a barber, then. :detective:

Sounds like your barber may just be a type of cosmetologist. :chuckle::chuckle:

I kid. I honestly learned something about "cosmetology" after this thread. :chuckle:

But, I think they still do straight shaves in NC. You do have to go to barber school to be able to shave someone. Perhaps, it is in the license.. I just found this place for a shave in NC.. Female owner/barber, too. o_O

the CUT Barbershop
121 W Trade St
Charlotte, NC 28202
Only 3-4 hours away!

You can still do cool stuff with your hair(shit look at what Jude law accomplished for the longest time). I don't have the perfect hairline at all and kind of thought the same way as you. The right products can make your hair look look like it has a ton of texture and volume.

meh, my hairline isn't quite that bad (yet)

idk i guess i could try for something different but uh i have a future wife and i dont really care too much so. i also just don't like the feeling of product in my hair, granted i've never tried "expensive" product but that just goes back to my lack of caring

also for shaving i use my girlfriends razor and the blade gets replaced...uh...barely ever. granted i never shave my face (trim with clippers) but i shave my neck every few days. shitty half rusted razor does the job well enough.

also for the last week or so i tried that no shampoo thing because its supposed to be healthier for your hair and i just cut mine so even if it gets greasy it isn't obvious. haven't really noticed a difference. just been conditioning every other day or so. today i noticed it smelled kinda bad tho plus i played soccer so i shampooed.

Man, I really do admire how much you really don't give a shit. I do sense that you want to try something different though. I think your girlfriend will appreciate it. Either that or she will think you are cheating on her; either way you will be more irresistible to her.

Apparently my girlfriend's friend's at work ask her how they can get their boyfriend/husband to dress nicer and do something better with their hair like me. Like I said earlier, I have to credit her for all of this. I wore shitty clothes, had a shitty haircut, used shitty hair products, and didn't give a shit; just like you! Only I probably cared slightly more than you.

She had me follow men's fashion stuff on Instagram and told me to stop cutting my hair so short. I just started on YouTube and found a ton of stuff and went from there.

What products do you use anyway? The stuff I use keeps your hair very moldable unlike a lot of gels that make your hair hard and crispy; so if your head itches you can scratch it and not break off any hair and you can easily fix it.

I'll take some pics of the products I use and put it up here later. It also depends what type of hair you have. My hair is very straight and fine like your standard white guy. So to get that volume that a lot of people want I need a volumising hair product along with a blow dryer. People with wavy hair can just blow dry their hair without any product into any shape they want.

I use a wahl beard trimmer and just a regular safety razor to do my neck. Having a good beard trimmer helps out a ton.

@TyGuy, are you a former rebel living with your dead sisters widowed husband, their three daughters and the widows childhood friend?

yeah i guess i wouldn't mind trying something different, i guess i just don't know what is "possible" with my shorter hair

my hair isn't really fine and i have no problem with "volume", when i grow my hair out it just gets poofy. pretty straight except for my hair on either side of my "widow's peak" which waves outwards

as for products, i have some cheap axe cream paste gel stuff in a plastic jar because that was the cheapest thing at the grocery when i felt like trying something, ha

Kouki, just be vain as fuck like the rest of us please

Where is a good barber shop? Went through 3 pages and no one has really posted where they go. I need to find someone that can clean up my sides. Sportsclips did alright for awhile but I want to switch it up.

You can't really do much with shorter hair. I never really tried axe products, but it depends what you what to do with your hair. If you want the old school really shiny slick hairstyle, you will want to use a good pomade. If you want more of a matte finish with a lot of texture and volume; hair wax is the way to go. You have to experiment with different products though to find the right fit. I got this hairwax that is a really good product, but the stuff is so incredibly thick and hard to apply to my hair because it is so soft and fine. The stuff is great for my 14 year old Chinese protege that lives with us however.

I'm currently using this hair wax and it works great for my hair: http://www.amazon.com/TIGI-Head-Matte-Separation-Ounce/dp/B002N5MI2S
My pre styling product that I put in my hair before blow drying:http://www.amazon.com/Sexy-Hair-Vol...=1417647626&sr=1-2&keywords=big+sexy+hair+gel

I got this gel really cheap. I found it in a package that included this hair powder and a hairspray for two dollars. Not sure what happened there. You may not even need a gel or mouse to blow dry for volume. My hair is very straight and wants to lay flat naturally, so I need this stuff. You can probably find a lot of other gels for much cheaper that will do the trick.

My girlfriend and I have legal guardianship over her 14 year old cousin from china. He is over here now going to high school. He is obsessed with doing his hair now and he has way cooler hair than all the kids at his school.

He pretty much likes everything I like now, including the cavs.

I actually have a Jew fro too, or I would if I let it grow out. My curls aren't nearly as tight as Corey from Boy Meets World.

I basically have Seth Rogen/Jonah Hill hair but I keep it shorter. The curls are still there, but not nearly as bad. It's really hard to find someone who knows how to cut curly hair. My hair was straight as an arrow until puberty, then it changed. That's when I stopped going to Great Clips.

This is basically what my hair looks like now.

Jude Law had some extremely wavy hair; almost to the point that it was curly. He also had a reseeding hairline to boot, and could still rock some good hairstyles. I have seen dudes that have extremely wavy hair and if they want a straighter style they will use a flat iron.

You can clearly tell that he would blow dry his hair out and then use a hair wax for this style.
