So I,drafted,Hawkins in my dynasty league, but miles is still available. I have lots of WRs thoughts?

Did anyone else read this post like Stephen Hawking?

Don't pick up 2 WR's in fantasy leagues on the same team. Unless they have A) a great QB throwing at them (i.e. Broncos w/ Thomas/Welker) or B) they are the only 2 good/great WR's on the team. Look at Marshall/Jeffrey last year. Pretty much knew a deep throw was going to one of those 2. The Browns are going to try and spread the ball a lot with what they have.

Like the Hawkins pick up though. Especially WHEN Gordon comes back, he will get some great red zone slants.

I do think he has looked good, but if he starts from day 1 you know you are in deep trouble. I think he still has a long way to go to secure a roster spot, but he seems like a strong option for practice squad at worst.
I posted this in the camp thread, but it is probably best to have this discussion here. I dont see the Chiefs cutting Bowe, because they are trying to win now, but I do think 1-2 of the WR's on the final roster are with a different NFL team today. I think it would be interesting to make a list of possible WR's who will not make final cuts with other teams who have depth at WR.

I am not high on Miles Austin as some others, I think it would be amazing if he even stayed healthy, let alone mad a major impact.
Hawkins, seems to have cooled off from a strong start in camp. Gordon is up in the air, and we know Benjamin will make the team as a returner and 4/5th Wr

Everyone else is a major question mark including Charles Johnson and Gabriel who have at least shown some promise.
I know some of you follow other rosters closely, so I am curious to see who you think we could nab to fill out our WR position assuming guys like Burleson and Armstrong dont make the final roster.

The Browns have a very strong DL rotation and the last DL roster cut to 53 will probably be a hot commodity for a team that is weak at DL.

The question is: "What teams have a strong roster at the WR position and are looking to hide a highly talented young player on the practice squad, or better yet, cut a veteran in order to keep a highly talented young player? Bonus points if you have played for Kyle Shanahan or similar offense in the past".

I really liked Hill coming out of Georgia Tech. He can block and has blazing speed. It is apparent in his performance that he is having trouble adjusting to the complexity of an NFL offense after playing in the primitive GT option offense.

I am willing to bet that Farmer, Pettine, Shanahan and all the pro scouts have a plan of action in place and are waiting for the final cuts to add up to two WR spots.

Notwithstanding the drivel I just wrote, if McFadden is not in our plans at CB for the future, them why not try to make a deal.

On the other hand, I can see the Browns trade a DL for a WR around the time whenfinal cuts are made.

Stephen Hill lost the spot he was supposed to take as a #2 receiver to...

...former Browns training camp cut David Nelson. We have come full circle and I'm kicking stray cats.

You gotta imagine the Browns will be actively looking at roster cuts and potential trades over the next few days...

Some names batted around
Stephen Hill
Dwayne Bowe
TJ Graham

I just hope we don't make some dumb trade to bring in an unproven/washed up wideout.

The Browns have to get down to 53 by 4pm on Saturday. The most intriguing positions have to be TE, WR and Backs...

RB: Ben Tate, Terrance West, Dion Lewis, Chris Ogbonnya, Isaiah Crowell
RB: Ray Agnew, MarQueis Gray (TE possibility)
TE: Jordan Cameron, Gary Barnidge, Jim Dray
WR: Miles Austin, Nate Burleson, Andrew Hawkins, Travis Benjamin, Taylor Gabriel, Charles Johnson, Willie Snead, Marlon Moore

We probably keep 2 TE, 4 backs and 6 WRs
TE: Cameron obviously makes it. Coin flip between Barnidge and Dray

Backs: Tate is the starter and West is the backup. I think they keep Gray as the FB because he can be a TE as well but Agnew played well. Agnew might be a PS candidate. That leaves 1 spot for Lewis, Ogbonnya and Crowell. After last night Crowell won't be able to be hidden on the practice squad so he either makes the 53 or he's playing on another team. Ognonnya is a quality do all vet and I bet they want to keep him so if they can squeeze him in somewhere for special teams great, if not my guess is he's cut. Lewis is a good 3rd down back but if it's between Crowell and Lewis, I'd go Crowell. I wonder if Lewis has any trade value, perhaps for a WR?

WR: Austin, Burleson, Hawkins, Benjamin all make it. I think Gabriel played well and he should make it. Charles Johnson disappointed me in the games as he didn't show much. Willie Snead played well at times and Marlon Moore was a KR primarily. If they can, they should try to sneak Johnson and Snead on the practice squad. Moore will probably be let go. The 6th WR I don't think is on the roster at this time.

To get another WR they can obviously search the waiver wire as they are 4th in waiver claims at the moment. Or they can use players in trade. We have a lot of depth at DL so perhaps they can be used to acquire someone of significance. Also I can see Lewis, Ogbonnya, Barnidge and Dray used as bait.

The next day and a half should be interesting.

Not to toot my own horn, but seeing Gabriel get time with the first team was very nice. The guy clearly knows how to get open and catch a ball, a trait that I wish other WR'ers knew on this team. He should get a lot of playing time this year because he's so damn reliable.

Gotta keep Crowell. With the health of Tate in question, I would not be disappointed at all moving forward with West/Crowell for the time being.

I'd keep Crowell, for nothing more than he would get scooped up immediately if we tried to keep him on PS. I'm not sure if they could justify Ogby or Dion as a ST/utility guy, either.

I can't see Green Bay keeping three of their rookie WRs, so I'd venture to think Jeff Janis might try to be a last-minute PS move.

Denarius Moore is going to be a popular name when he gets released soon; however, if a mutha fukka can't beat out Greg Little, then he can pound sand.

Cobi Hamilton is a nice WR prospect with some size (6'2"), and might not be able to squeeze his way into the CIN roster again.

Not sure about Arizona letting go of their young prospects, with the uncertainty of Fitz remaining in the future.
Stephen Hill? Fuck that guy.
San Fran also seems a little thick in the WR department; while my pipe dream is them cutting Bruce Ellington, they might dump one of their vets.

Bowe? I'm a Chiefs fan but didn't realize he was available. Thought they just gave him a pay day.

There was talk a few weeks ago that they are unhappy with Bowe, especially after giving him a big payday. After his 1 game suspension he could be traded because the cap hit is lessened somehow. If I get time I'll see if I can find an article.

Kinda surprised Snead was cut, he showed some pretty good things in the preseason. However, there's no doubt they'll add another WR before the season starts.
