Windhorst Radio Show & Updates

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Anyone that has Blatt as a COY candidate has "ulterior motives" - WTF does that even mean? What would those motives be exactly? So Steve Kerr is a shoe in for a top three candidacy for that award as a first year head coach, but Blatt is so far away from even discussing it that Brad Stevens has a clear and decided advantage over him and if anyone dares to disagree they simply have an ulterior motive (again, what that would even be is a mystery).

Windhorst is such a jack ass.. sorry Blatt hasn't kissed your ass dude. YOUR ulterior motives are shining through very clearly with your commentary of him.

Hey Windy --- 4.17.15

86. Windy: I think if anyone put him in their COY voting, I think they have ulterior motives. Many people think he did not do a good job, although he was better in the second half of the year. Most people feel Brad Stevens has a heavy edge over Blatt in the Cleveland/Boston series. This is the perception of Blatt.

Seriously, screw Windy. That this guy can't let go of Blatt not bowing down and kissing Windy's ring makes him sound like Joe Vardon. Does he even know how infantile he sounds like here?

I think he's saying two things:
1) Blatt's rookie season was less impressive than many other NBA coaches this year
2) Anyone who voted Blatt as NBA coach of the year wasn't doing it because of Blatt's achievements in the NBA.

Why might someone vote for Blatt? Maybe it is because they were impressed with his Euro past achievements or maybe it is because they like him as a person. Those seem like the two obvious things.

^Or maybe because he was faced with a huge transition to the NBA, tons of unexpected pressure and scrutiny from the media (I'm saying this because when he signed here he was coaching a team led by Kyrie and Wiggins, NOT with LBJ and Love), and a team that started off the season 19-20 with tons of roster overhaul (at the beginning of the season and in the middle)...and still ended up coaching them to the 2nd seed in the East and the best record in the 2nd half of the season.

Having said that, Blatt won't get many votes at all, and I am completely fine with that. Others deserve it ahead of him. But I agree with posters who think Windy provided yet another subtle jab that exemplifies his douchebaggery and bitterness.

Yes it was less than impressive to start. Before the moves that Griffin made.
Once those trades were made things went a whole lot better .
Blatt's learning curve improved with better parts .
Personallly I'm not concerned about COY ..I want to see the Cavs win it all.

Brad Stevens is a way better coach than Blatt. Cleveland will have the worst coach going into every potential playoff series unless we end up playing Washington or Toronto in the ECF.

He won't get any votes at all. Our season was saved because of the following:

1. LeBron coming back healthy
2. The moves Griffin made. Specifically Mozgov being the biggest
3. J.R. Smith adding a new dimension to the team
4. Irving playing off the ball more.

Blatt deserves very little credit if any.

This wasn't even a thought when we had Mike Brown. Are you suggesting MB was better than Blatt? Perhaps I'm reading into it and it is not a big deal to you.

I don't feel I can say Blatt will be bad, good, or great going into the playoffs, but I can say he has been better during regular season than our last few coaches.

Sorry guys.. I stopped reading when he tried to force feed that bullshit about LeBron's elbow and him not quitting in Game 5.

We all saw what we saw... Even the owner called him out on it. Right or wrong, LeBron gave up; he quit, and he simply stopped trying. It's in the past now, okay, but don't tell me it didn't happen.

I'm not trying to turn this into an anti-LeBron thread, or anything like that.. But I'm sick of Windhorst's bullshit.

First it's lies about LeBron, then it's lies about Kyrie, then it's lies about Kevin Love, then it's lies about David Blatt, now more lies about LeBron James.

To hell with this guy, seriously.

/rant.

Fine, I'd happily edit my post to "...won't get many votes or none at all." I don't really give a shit. And I'm glad the authority on what has worked for the Cavs (you) has clarified for us that Blatt deserves no (or very little) credit for anything positive the past few months. Good to know. Windhorst has still been a bitter douche lately, sometimes blatantly and sometimes subtly.

I just think this board tries to hard to heap praise on Blatt for things he hasn't done yet. He was a spectator for the in-season turn around. Before that were getting crushed without LeBron and he was telling Love how he wasn't a max player. He has done absolutely nothing that makes me think he is on par with someone like Stevens, Budenholzer, etc. That is just my opinion (not that is means anything) but I am not giving him credit for much. This is all I will say about it because we are going off-topic

LeBron had a deep bone bruise and strain in his elbow. That was confirmed. I know it's popular to say he quit, but he didn't. How many rebounds did he have in game 6? Hard to quit with that many. Some of you guys have a habit of pointing the finger at the wrong players. Mo Williams, Jamison, and our bench failed to show again. But for some reason, only LeBron gets blamed for anything. His teammates always get a pass for choking.

Total nonsense. Everyone knows I've been critical of Blatt, just as I've been critical of everyone; but this is rubbish.

That's your argument?
