Do Not Sell My Personal Information
It's a damn shame we didn't adopt the Heat offense here in Cleveland. We have the personnel for it.

I'm not sure why Blatt didn't decide to take a page from Spoelstra in this regard; I'm sure it would've went over better with James than what we were running to start the season.

Hope to see this change happen next season.

yeah. I have a hard time seeing Lebron rejecting Blatt for trying to create continuity with what he ran in Miami.

We didn't have the personnel for Miami's defense but we mostly did for their offense.

Spoelstra had Wade to help get James in line.

I have a feeling what we are NOT seeing Blatt's offense much. James choosing to iso all the time is probably NOT Blatt's game plan.

I didn't say we were seeing Blatt's offense; that was exactly my point.

But to say we aren't running the Heat offense because we don't have Wade, and that James must simply want to run isolation sets makes no sense. Wade, James and Bosh were all sold on Spoelstra's offense; it made James specifically, an unbelievably efficient player.

I'd venture to guess James decided to resort to James/Irving isolation some time midseason simply because they didn't have time to reintroduce a new system.

But I'd be surprised if James doesn't feel compelled to move the team more towards what Miami did in the offseason.

I see. Good points. Agree entirely.

I don't believe they had the time to really implement Blatt's system.

Blatt also had no cred with Lebron.

Cavs could really be great next year.

What we see now is only the beginning of our run.

All who have suffered as Cleveland fans have earned it.

Can't remember where, but I recall reading that James was not happy with Spoelstra's system last year, particularly by the end of the season.

As I recall Lebron loved Spoelstra's offensive system. He was positively gushing about it in 2012-2013. But he didn't love having to play 45 minutes every game because Miami didn't have enough horses and he didn't love getting blown out by the Spurs in last year's finals. I think he would have welcomed the same principles implemented on a better, deeper team.

[Edit -- Rob said it first]

Because last year, the system was LeBron carrying Bosh and a bunch of scrubs on his back all season...

Exactly.. he didn't have a problem with Spo's system, he had a problem with being overused because Riley wanted to "save Wade for the playoffs."

Had nothing to do with Spoelstra. LeBron went from disliking Spo, to considering him one of the best coaches in the league. I think that speaks volumes.

64. Cavs pretty much have not felt the loss of JR Smith in the first two games of the series.

Wow, I completely disagree. Not only did we miss his shooting badly in Game 1, but he's been very good defensively and there's very little doubt in my head that he would've helped slow Chicago down a bit (specifically Dunleavy)

Except that Shump replaced his production.
If Shump can go, how big would it be to maintain Shump's production AND add Jr's season avgs?
One can't remain a 'specialist' with Love out. They both need to produce.
I'd love to see 30+ out of them combined.

What Windy meant, I think, is that (in Windy's opinion) Shumpert/Jones offset the loss of Smith. Not that the Cavs wouldn't like Smith around in those two games, but just that Windy felt his productivity wasn't missed.

Windy said, on this point, that he blamed Kyrie and LeBron for not executing down the stretch of Game 1. In other words, he felt the Cavs could have won the game even without Smith around.
