Windhorst Radio Show & Updates

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Also thought Windhorst was way off on saying that the Wizards posed greater threat to the Cavs than the Hawks.

DeMarre Carrol could potentially shut down LeBron the way Jimmy Bulter did. I don't see anyone on the Wizards who could do that. Hawks have so many weapons at their disposal...they don't need to rely on any one player. The Wizards are pretty much sunk if Wall doesn't play well.

"Rumors continue to swirl that Kevin Love is leaving..."

I.E. Pat Riley and Alonzo Mourning are still butthurt, and both Danny Ainge and and Jimmy Buss need to keep fans interested while their once proud franchises look like miserable piles of garbage.

People act as if some of these reporters have direct lines to Love, his agent, or his family.

They don't. And if they did, they certainly wouldn't be getting any quotes from them indicating a desire to leave.

So if not hearing these "swirling rumors" from a Cavs source or a Love source, where are they getting it from?

Execs and media of other teams, who have no insight into the situation and who are at best rehashing "opinions" from the midst of our 19-20 start(same thing applies to the never-ending Blatt nonsense)

Another example of where this type of thing comes from. Reporters will hold onto info and rumors that are years old. So if at one time 1-2 years ago Love's agent, while unhappy in Minnesota, dropped hints about Love having interest in the Lakers or Celtics, reporters will hang on to that for years, especially when Love ends up in a non glamour market like Cleveland. if Love's agent put out that Love wasn't interested in extending with Cleveland PRIOR to the trade and BEFORE LeBron signed, then media types will hold on to that info and rehash it over and over again, even though the context has changed severely since the time they may have actually had a legit bit of info.

The funny thing is that reporters DO have direct lines to Love.... and he has consistently stated, as Windy pointed out, that he is returning.

Because the Bulls held to their season long pattern of offensive inefficiency.
Going forward the CAVs will be playing teams who likely aren't going to give the a six minute scoreless stretch per night.

While the win over the Bulls is great, the CAVs are still a team that is vulnerable. It doesn't mean they are playing well or don't have momentum, but they need to find consistent offense, especially against s western conference opponent who will likely make some of the open looks the Bulls missed.

Couldn't you also say though that we won't face a better defense in the ECF? Weren't the Bulls the top D team in the playoffs?

One could possibly make that claim. It remains to be seen.

Love has. Windy hasn't been saying it, and that's @Chris Parker 's point.

Nope, Windy has been saying it. Listen to his podcast every week. I even posted about this very thing a few weeks ago, about how Windy keeps repeating the same damn thing every week how "millions" of sources tell him Love is leaving except for Love himself who says the exact opposite, so he has to take Love at his word. Not sure why he even feels the need to address it every show, to be honest. Same thing every time.

Post #676 in this thread:

41. Every other day I hear someone in the league tell me that Kevin Love is walking away from the Cavs this summer. Hear it all the time. But then I see Kevin saying, on the record, he will be in Cleveland.

That's from May 1. Too lazy to go back any further to prove a point that is already proven but I know he's been saying it even further back.

Postseason defensive efficiency:
1. Chicago - 98.1
2. Atlanta - 98.2
3. Washington - 98.4
4. Cleveland - 98.8 / Golden State - 98.8

So yes, Chicago was #1, but Atlanta is right there, as are we.

Postseason offensive efficiency:
1. Cleveland - 108.2
2. Golden State - 107.4
3. San Antonio - 106.7
4. LA Clippers - 106.6
...
8. Washington - 103.3
9. Atlanta - 102.0
10. Chicago - 100.5

Did anyone notice Windhorst trying to stir up more trouble? There's a podcast about 8:15 into it...its this one here:

Brian Windhorst w/ Bruce Hooley
Added: 5/15/15
Friday, May 15, 2015 - ESPN NBA writer Brian Windhorst joined Bruce Hooley on ESPN 850 WKNR to react to the Cavaliers' series clinching win in Chicago, plus the future of David Blatt as the head coach of the Wine and Gold.

Windhorst said that LeBron referred to himself as the coach of the team. I remember hearing LeBron saying it in the post game interview. Probably just a slip of the tongue but Windhorst planting the seed here to see if anything comes of it.

Windhorst did give Blatt some props in the interview.

Windhorst and Bucher continue to look at the dynamic on the sideline of how the players aren't interacting with Blatt that much. I got to admit it does seem a bit odd to me too. Does that to me mean that Blatt is a bad coach? No. But it does kind of make me scratch my head.

It doesn't really matter much if LeBron was referring to Blatt as coach or himself as "a" coach. He thinks of himself as a leader and coach on the floor(and he is) and he would refer to himself that way whether his coach was David Blatt, Doc Rivers, Phil Jackson, or Red Auberach.

Athletes do not think and refer to themselves the same way as non athletes. Superstar athletes do not think and refer to themselves the same way as average athletes. LeBron is at a level different from the normal superstar. The sooner the media understands and accepts that(most never will), the sooner they will stop trying to apply the basic sports armchair psychology to every word he says.
