Fastlane Tonight - in Cleveland!

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I don't know what I hate more, corporate kane or the fact that they only call him corporate kane. Also, how do you go 3 PPVs without defending what's supposed to be the most important title the company has? The rest of the product isn't nearly good enough to rationalize that. This isn't the UFC. Champions should have 4 months off between fights. Only to fight the same guy over and over and over again. They should have done what they did with the Rock and paid Lesnar to just be around pretty much every week between the Rumble and Mania.

This isn't anything new with sports in general. Are you done with the NFL because they used to lie about concussions and put pain killers in a guy just so he could play hurt?

Look how many wrestlers die at a young age. It's not a business that is soft on your body. Eddie, Benoit, Pillman, Owen Hart (see what the hart family has to say about that), Doink, Test, Flairs son (never made it to wwe), bulldog, ect...

I realize that it's nothing new and it happens all the time. I also realize that there are a lot of wrestlers that turn to drugs or alcohol in order to cope with the hectic life and all the damage that happens to their bodies.

This is really just the final nail in the coffin for me. The product is absolutely terrible. What they have done to the WWE Title is a travesty. I'm tired of the same wrestlers getting pushes while others do not. McMahon talks about the product evolving and how it's a different time, but he still builds up the same stars and pushes them the same way.

It took someone like CM Punk to trailblaze a path forward for wrestlers like Ambrose, Wyatt, Rollins, Reigns, etc. They ruined a true gem in CM Punk who was capable of so much more. They've damaged Bray Wyatt with how hot he was before and are now pushing that moronic Rusev Russian gimmick. Don't get me started on that idiot Ryback's reboot.

I get that the WWE has to appeal to a wider audience, but the product has suffered for a long time and is getting worse. It's like Punk said, he was just a spoke in the wheel and the machine is going to keep on turning. I'm not optimistic about the future of the WWE because HHH is as bad if not worse than McMahon.

I've been a fan for over 20 years, off and on for the last 5, but I just can't take any more.

If you're tired of the same guys getting the same pushed then I suggest you watch the alternative programs out there. Anywhere from tna to roh to dragongate to njpw and even NXT.

Vince likes guys that are big, he always has. I agree with you on all accounts, but the future is bright for reigns. He's got the look, the skills, but his mic work is awful.

As far as rybacks reboot, hopefully the fans start cheering Goldberg again.

NXT was HHH's brainchild, so there is that. They don't always agree on the same stuff, but HHH has a tendency to push his friends and help them out.

I've been a fan for over 20 years, off and on for the last 5, but I just can't take any more.

If that's the case, I recommend you check out the alternative products out there on american TV. The options are starting to grow and hopefully Jarretts GFW takes off.

1. NXT was not HHH's brainchild. Most of the guys you want to make it (Steen, Generico, Neville, Devitt, KENTA) are all guys that Regal had a HUGE part in bringing here. Hunter gets credit for final call, but I guarantee that if Regal wasn't in this company, you wouldn't have any of those names. Prince Devitt/KENTA/Neville are EVERYTHING that WWE hates. Small, Foreign, Can't Talk. They're there because Regal gets it, not because Hunter does.

2. If you're looking for alternative programming, do not watch TNA. Do not watch NJPW. Pay money, torrent, do whatever. Get PWG. Get Chikara. Watch ROH. That's where real talent is, and always has, been. PWG is the greatest collection of North American Wrestlers in the States, and it is absolutely amazing to watch. Really incredible stuff out of a small ass venue. Friends making wrestling for fun? Chikara is amazing, and if you get wrestling and don't have a stick up your ass, then you'll like the lightheartedness. ROH is ROH. Self explanatory.

NXT was HHH's brainchild. I never said the guys who are in it were recruited by HHH. That is also meaningless on who brings them into the company. JR primarily is the reason for Austin coming into the company and he did fine.

I couldn't disagree more. TNA has Samoa Joe, Kurt Angle (might be GOAT), wolves, Roode, and EC3 (who has really come into his own).

NJPW off the top of my head has AJ Styles, Davey Boy Smith Jr, and the bullet club. Not to mention they have the legendary commentator JR calling their wrestlemania. You bet your ass I'm tuning in to that. They also just announced they're going to put up their own version of the network for 999 yen. 8.55 a month in american dollars.

ROH is great to watch from a pure wresting standpoint, but they leave a lot to be desired for people who want everything. Believe me i love watching roh and dragongate from time to time. However, I don't think I could watch it every week.

I do love going down to turner hall and watching the Indys and marking out to stupid stuff, but at the end of the day I'm a huge wrestling fan and will watch what's available on TV in my area.

They're no competition right now to wwe and they acknowledged WCW in the wars.

Uh yeah.. that's why Vince's mention was surprising. Wrestling was different back then. Back then, there was more than 1 major wrestling company and there was even territories for a short time in the 1990s and the major wrestling companies even allied with each other (WWF and ECW) while today, it's the opposite. Wrestling in this era or since the early 2000s only has WWE as the major wrestling company. WWE have been trying to convince everyone that they're the only wrestling company left and have been ignoring other companies such as NJPW, ROH, TNA, etc for years to avoid another Monday Night Wars or competition.

Also, it's not like he has mentioned or acknowledged TNA before. I'm pretty sure this is the first time he has mentioned TNA in his network which is what makes it unexpected

Anyways, I hope they keep doing this podcasts. I think wrestling will soon start to even break more kayfabe in the future since it's pretty much dead right now

If you watch Jeff hardys beyond the mat on the network, you will hear him mention tna.

True but I think WWE is a lot more loose with the no acknowledging other promotions rule in their DVDs for some reason. I think there were even ROH and Indie videos shown in CM Punk's DVD but it's different when it's on their own shows or their website.

You have to be kidding... They had ROH matches and ROH interviews on Punk's TV deal. TNA is floundering. All of the talent you say they have, is the same talent they've had for years. Samoa Joe? Can't get over. Kurt Angle? Doesn't wrestle. Bobby Roode? How many times has he turned heel and face? Their best wrestler is Austin Aries, and he wasn't even good enough for WWE. The Wolves? Please. Davey Richards could pass me on the street and you'd have no clue because he's generic as they come. The best tag team in the world got shat on by TNA, and now they literally wipe the floor with everyone not named reDRagon all over the Earth.

Stop kidding yourself. TNA hasn't been relevant in years.

Stop kidding yourself. TNA hasn't been relevant in years and the ONLY thing they do better is the Knockout division. And let's be real, it's catered to the perverts while the rest of us go empty our bladders. WWE looks at TNA on Destination America and laughs hysterically.

I'm willing to bet they probably paid roh for that footage. Not sure how that all works though.

My guess is they paid for that footage, but who knows? Ziggler can't get over, does that make him bad? Cesaro can't get over, does that make him bad? Kurt angle isn't wrestling right now because he's coming off surgery. He will be wrestling soon.

The same amount as Randy Orton.

Their best wrestler is Austin Aries, and he wasn't even good enough for WWE.

I'm not really an Aries fan, but that's alright.

If you're referring to young bucks, I'm not sure what happened. I agree they dropped the ball, but nearly every company has dropped the ball on a wrestler or two. The wolves are really really good and clearly you didn't watch full metal mayham with the hardys, Dudley's and wolves. Easily match of the year in tna and the best tag team match out of major promotions.

Stop kidding yourself. TNA hasn't been relevant in years.

They're number 2 in the USA, 1st in Germany and the uk last I checked. They must be doing something right.

Not to nitpick, but Ziggler has gotten over on more than one occasion. If they'd stick with one of his many pushes, he'd be over more consistently. But they're so worried he's gonna get hurt with how he works, that they keep moving him between main event storylines & mid-card crap.

To quote Michael PS Hayes "Once you over you are over for good."

I do agree with you the booking hasn't helped his cause though.

I certainly agree, but as you alluded to, they haven't given him the opportunity to continue getting over.

I remember when he cashed in, that place absolutely went bonkers. There's been a few instances where the crowd has been crazy behind him, and for some reason, they don't book him in a way in which he can keep it going.
