As a huge Halo fan, the news that you will be able to play H:CE and H2 online again is a big enough announcement for me to get the Xbox. I was leaning PS4, and still could go that way, but with the Halo announcement I think I will go with Xbox. I just hope Xbox has some other games coming down the line to make it worthwhile.

Lamest E3 I've ever seen, mostly CG teasers, and teasing of games coming in 2015-2016.

Dragon Age and Crackdown really have to deliver to save their IP imo, both sequels were hot garbage and ripped apart by the community.

3 of my friends with PS4's have already said they're going to have to pony up for an XB1 this fall because of the Master Chief Collection, and two said they may consider selling their PS4 to do so. Don't underestimate the impact that collection will have, especially on PS4 owners who were previous XB360 users.

I was really leaning towards the PS4 too, but I love Halo too much.

Yeah I am in this exact predicament. But I also pretty much knew before I bought my PS4 that the Master Chief Collection was gonna be a thing (there were leaks online about it). At the end of the day ( :chuckles: ) , MLB the Show and other PS4 exclusives such as The Last of Us and other cool story based games, mean way much more to me than playing online shooters. I'm done with online shooters, they just aren't fun for me anymore. Sure playing Halo 2 for old times sake would be fun but after a couple hours I'd be bored. Not worth $400 to me. Now obviously that's not how everyone feels but to me the PS4 exclusives are just too much to pass up. The xbox has nothing to me that the PS4 doesn't have, other than the NFL App. The PS4 has many more things that the Xbox doesn't that I care about.

Boy did Xbox need this Halo thing though, my god.

Oh Halo will definetely sell some consoles, remake or not. Still its importance is likely greatly over thought. How much did Halo anni sell on 360?

Cut that in 15, and that is likely to be the sales (given an 80 million to 5-6 million install base difference). Even if it sells better attatch rate wise, Titanfall didn't help xbox beat ps4 despite massive price cuts, and bundling.

I don't imagine there being a huge amount of consoles sold. Halo fans likely already have one, as it is the only place you are playing halo, so why not get it.

The last of us, and Halo remakes will likely sell around the same amount of consoles imo.

I'm not a huge Halo fan, but I totally disagree with that. The Last of Us just came out a year ago and wasn't nearly as popular as the Halo franchise. Halo is one of the most popular multi-player console games ever. Its only rival is Call of Duty in that regard.

The Last of Us was a great game, but I have to imagine most people are in the same boat as I am and find the prospect of spending sixty bucks on a game I just bought for sixty bucks a year ago unappealing.

Where would Last of Us even go? The way that game ended was kinda absolute.

Great game though. Didn't play it but I watched a youtube let's play of it.

As opposed to spending 30 bucks for games out of bargain bins because they are a decade old, for a system you already own.

460 bucks for each package, don't forget that. I think it is greatly over estimated how many are willing to spend 460 bucks to play halo games they already likely own...

The difference is the ability to play all of the multi-player maps in one place, obviously. If I were a Halo fan, I'd be pumped about this package. I'm not, so I don't really give a shit. I just think it's a sure thing that this Halo pack will outsell the re-release of The Last of Us. Easily.

I just won an Xbox One. Good thing it happened today because I almost pulled the trigger on one yesterday.

Oh i'm not saying it won't sell well to the existing owners. I just don't see it selling new people on an xbox.

Maybe not, but the argument was that it would sell the same amount of copies as The Last of Us remake, and I still totally disagree with that. I for one won't be buying either, as I've already played The Last of Us (and a minor graphical upgrade doesn't do anything for me) and I've played all the Halo single-player games and have always found the multi-player (outside of Halo 1 LAN parties, which were pretty fun back in high school) plodding and boring.

Also, Titanfall didn't help Microsoft sell too many units because a perfectly fine version of it was already on the 360 (which I still think was an idiotic move on Microsoft's part...they should have gotten an Xbone/PC exclusivity agreement in writing) while an equal version was on the PC. Unless you're someone like me who has some disposable income and likes to be an early adopter, why buy an Xbone for Titanfall (which was a pretty good game, by the way) when you can play a similar version on the 360 or an identical one on the PC? If it had been Xbone exclusive it absolutely would have moved some consoles simply by virtue of being one of the first next-gen killer apps.

My argument always remained it would sell the same amount of consoles as the last of us remake. As in not very many. I just can't see anyone buying a 460 dollar package for shit they already played. Actually more than that for xbox because of live if you don't have it.

The halo collection is a good value for sure, but it stops being a good value when you have to buy the console too.

Do you have a investment in Sony MDog? Do you make money from them? You come across as a huge Sony fan boy threw out this thread, I'm just hoping you at least get some money from doing so.
