A closer look at Harrison Barnes

I had this guy labelled as a bust months ago...
 
The biggest problem is most young kids need more time at the college level. The rules need to be changed. Only a scant few can be instant stars at 18 or 19 years old in the nba, or even good players.

I don't know if he can defend 2's. He's a 3 at this point and his offensive game has fallen apart in terms of his mechanics on jump-shots and even some dribbling issues when making certain moves. He has turned from an elite prospect into a reclamation project essentially overnight. Let's see how he plays the rest of the year though.
 
Barnes is off to a hot start. 8 pts on 4-4 shooting in about five minutes so far.
 
I can't write off a player 2/3 of the way through his freshman season. He's been a disappointment so far but we do live in an age of overhype where everyone is expected to dominate immediately.
Barnes does have work to do on his game and we may see something a little closer to the player he was expected to be with a couple of more years of development. He needs to stay at UNC and shouldn't even consider entering the draft.
 
I've seen almost all of Barnes games this year and this is by far his best. He is playing good on both ends.

You took the words right out of my mouth. Barnes is finally playing with confidence. He looks very impressive this game. A couple more games like this and he will move up draftboards rapidly.
 
Don't be fooled by his stats. Barnes lacks the lateral moves offensively and defensively to play the two.

He's a small forward all the way, IMO. He's a solid defender, though. He resembles a younger Ron Artest with his D and shot. He even moves like him.
 
Barnes is a three. He plays his best ball on the wing. He had a great game today. He played with confidence and had fin today. I think his game winning three really helped his confidence. If Harrison continues like this he will be right back in the conversation again.
 
Don't take too much from this game. State is horrible. But Barnes did show out today. I love when my 'Heels play well together.

Looks like Barnes might be coming around. Another good game for him in the works tonight.
 
Barnes is finally starting to live up to the hype. It does look like the light has come on for the young man. That is a very good thing for, it gives us more options in case Kyrie stays.

He is playing better, but I wasn't that impressed when I saw him in their game prior tonight's game. He didn't seem athletic or quick. He seemed slow in his movements. I will have to see him more before I decide if he is worthy of a top 5 pick.
