A closer look at Harrison Barnes

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The problem with your posts is that you are so convinced of everything you say. Maybe if you left room for discussion and listened to other people's ideas then we would stop referring to you as a troll and Eli.

there is no discussion
he's been one and done since last year

Really? Are you friends with his agent? Do you know how the potential lockout is affecting his decision making in all of this?

Just because you act like you know everything doesn't mean that you are convincing anyone.

That, and you're inability to write a sentence isn't helping your cause.

Dude get a grip. It's well known that both Eli and CBB are notoriously good NBA scouts. You should be thanking him, not questioning his wisdom.

no i just know everything
the lockout isnt going to change any players decision in the draft
Harrison Barnes said at least 20 times last year he was one and done
he has already told Roy Williams he's gone after this year

I like CBB Fan25, he's really cool guy. He makes up bogus rumors and doesn't afraid of anything.

I wish quotes could be ignored also and not just a user's original post.

Besides, only bad forum posters actually use published evidence to back up their statements. The good forum posters don't need to use published evidence. Their word is unquestionable fact.

Why use published articles, stats, and actual evidence to support your opinion when you can just state an opinion as fact?

Are we sure that all these guys aren't just Heath trying to get back in? It seems like a very Heath-y move...

Would anyone consider Barnes a lottery pick even in this weak draft based on what he has done this season alone? I doubt it: he's still highly regarded from what people thought of him coming into his freshman year. He's another guy like Jones who would seriously benefit from another year of grooming to really show that he can dominate less competition
Would Jones really benefit? He already seems to be a consensus top 3 pick at worst. If he stays another year he runs the risk of not improving enough, getting injured, and being a second fiddle (yet again) to their next star PF recruit coming in. His stock can't really get much higher tbh.
We won't have to...Banes is staying in Chapel Hill.
bias itt

It probably won't benefit his draft stock. BUT it could allow him to put on some weight and become more of a stretch four.

Barnes said the reason why he chose UNC is for academic purposes. He didn't even mention basketball until he called Coach Roy on Skype. I'm not meaning to be stereotypical or anything but he is from Ames, Iowa. What does that tell you? He stays at UNC at least 2 or 3 years. Barnes has a lot of things to work on still, and staying in college will improve that. I think in 2 or 3 years he'll still be drafted around the same area.

Or he can come out this year, even having underperformed and get drafted around the 4-8 range. Possibly even higher depending on how he plays in the tournament. Money talks. If he were to come out next year, there's no way he get selected higher that 6-10. The draft is too deep.

If I were a betting man, I would never bet on a surefire lottery pick staying in school. It rarely happens, even though there are a handful of kids every year in the lottery who talk about academics and how much they love the school and want to come back and win and like to make fans of the school think they may come back, they generally end up leaving once they see that they're going to get paid millions of dollars over the next few years, guaranteed.

I think Barnes is going to be a top 10 pick and I would be shocked if he didn't declare once he hears that from an agent.

Yeah, but that's my point. He can improve just as much, probably even more, if he makes the jump this year. But chances are his actual stock won't improve, which is why he should just come out now.

It tells me that he's spent ~18 years living in the middle of nowhere and would probably like to live in a real city? :dunno: And no, Chapel Hill isn't considered a real city.

Yeah, if he's going to be drafted in the same range next year he has no reason to stay. You can still get a degree when you're in the NBA, you can still bang groupies (who are also better looking), you still have little to no real obligations, you get to travel the country, oh and you actually get paid. Hm, what's the point of staying again?

Of course if he struggles in the two tournaments and somehow falls a few slots...it could be a different story.

Barnes is starting to grow on me. For a SF in college he actually rebounds the ball pretty well. 5.7 rpg in only 27 mpg is pretty good for a SF.
