Oakland @ Cleveland - August 29, 30, 31 and Sept. 1

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Jared Head is a minor league baseball player. Albeit a good one.

It's time to send him on his way back down.

If Detroit holds onto beat KC, it doesn't look good for the Indians. Then again, it didn't look good for them anyways.

They'd need the White Sox to take 2/3 at least, and then sweep both times against Detroit.

And that, my friends, isn't going to happen.

The Tribe at full strength would have had a hard time keeping up with the Tigers, given how hot they are now. With the injuries, the current lineup has no shot at all. I'll be happy just finishing above .500 at this point. The team has really fought hard but unfortunately the injuries and now the brutal schedule are going to be impossible to overcome. But at least we had a good ride for most of the summer.

A CWS sweep of DET this weekend could make the division race very interesting. I am worried about KC as they have been swinging the bat well unlike us.

CWS is fighting for that division lead too so does them beating DET really help?

Anything that evens the three teams would help.

Chicago beating DET and CLE continuing to win will do that.

Right, but as you said ... we'd need to keep winning.

Indians need to just go on a tear and annihilate Detoilet when we face them. That's our best hope. Take care of our business and it'll work out.

You have to respect your opponent if you ever wish to beat them...

Yes for obvious reasons.

Edit: Don't mean to come off wrong. Look at it this way. Yes, we need to keep winning either way. But we want the leader between Detroit and CWS at the end of the year to have as few wins as possible. If Chicago sweeps Detroit, it's a near guarantee that we'll need to win less games to win the Central than if Detroit were to sweep Chicago.

You came off wrong, asshole.

edit: You came just right (quasi homo)

We are both 5.5 games back.

Chicago sweeps Detroit.
Cleveland sweeps Kansas City.

Both Chicago and Cleveland would be 2.5 games in back of Detroit on Sunday night.

The perfect scenario.

Oh. We'll have Jimenez, Carmona, and Masterson pitching at home against Detroit next week. I like our chances.
