Expected a lot better....The beats were fire , But that's about it. J Cole album was a huge disappointment too

think it's alright up until race was (i guess inevitably) brought up. really hated that part and don't agree with most of it. the chris brown part was especially awful. lol, people love him again? definitely not. feel free to check out his album sales too. much like his reputation, those didn't recover either. his first album went plat in the us and racked up a bunch of gold's in other countries while his second went double plat in multiple countries. his past two combined have went gold a total of two times. he starred in one movie that failed both critically and in the box office, and he might've even only had that role because he fronted money for it (see: exec producer title).

anyway, in the end, i don't want either rapper to "fail" or one to succeed more just because of spite or it being a better story. i do think mmg sucks, but if wale can stay true to himself while capitalizing on the enhanced resources provided by mmg then good for him, i'll still be a fan. it gave him a platform and resources he wouldn't have had otherwise.

i didn't buy either album. hell, i thought j. cole's was a bit disappointing and haven't even listened to wale's yet. but i should also note that i was a wale fan before a j. cole fan.

this mixtape has really piqued my interest because of the hype it's received. haven't listened yet tho and his name is too damn familiar with aesop rock.

wanted to add that i hope he fails cause that dude is dark.

just kidding. i hope he fails because of that shit he pulled in ny last week. i don't like pricks with a sense of self entitlement, regardless of skin color.
