Lester Hudson Leaving (signing with Memphis)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The grizzlies jumped on him in 2010 and immediately assigned him to the d league.
since then he has gone to china. played well in the d league and looked good for the cavs with 2 ten day contracts.

They were probably looking at him all year . it is also probably why he took a 2nd ten day contract instead of the full season so he could maintain his playoff eligibility.

It was just a smart move by Hudson. Now he is in his hometown. has a chance for playoff time and Mayo will likely be traded in the offseason.

Selby pargo and arenas all just suck.

Hudson is arguably the same as mayo, with more consistent motivation. Intant offense, not much defense, good for about 15 minutes a game. But he will cost them millions of dollars less. They could sign him to a vet min, then sign and trade Mayo for another decent player like a Marvin Williams...good move for Memphis and as mentioned it is Lester's home town, so good for him.

I don't think the cavs are too worked up. Would be nice to see another d leaguer on a ten day to finish out the season. Preferably a big. Also this is Manny's shot. If he is going to get another invite, he is going to have to show something.

Gotta say I'm happy for him. One of those feel good stories. But he blew the tank

:chuckles: this is hilarious:

While Hudson was here: "This guy is awesome, future 6th man at least! Possible future starting 2 guard!"

Hudson is gone: "The guy wasn't shit anyways. He had his good week of his career. He wasn't going to be a part of this team's future."

I actually say that he could've been a part of this team's future if he had stayed. Even though he was like 27 or 28 he was still looking good. Like I pointed out, 11.7 PPG. That's really helpful of you're looking for that last scorer. But not if you're tanking.

No excuses or justification for having Harangody and Parker on this roster and letting someone like Hudsanity get away.

None.

Don't care, don't want to hear it the weak defense of the Cavs front office... because if you're ok with this you'd most likely be ok with whatever they did anyways.

Ramon Sessions, Lester Hudson, Danny Green, J.J. Hickson.... even Ben Uzoh is contributing for Toronto right now. Eyenga isn't a finished product and I'm sure could have been replaced by a 2nd rounder somewhere down the line in the trade. Then again we really could use Justin Harper right now and his getting lots of run would only help him and us in the future. Throw in Greg Stiemsma and Boom Dizzle as well and that squad of guys this front office has gotten rid probably mops the floor with our current roster rotation. Then again I'm not saying it's feasible either but still. Anyways I take Danny Green and J.J. now easily over Casspi and this theoretically possible 1st round pick in the future.

Cue losers with "Wahhh..... wahhh.... we got to tank at all costs!" Well there's smart tanking and dumb tanking, not only that but a team isn't going to go from garbage/last to first in one year just building through the draft.

This is Cleveland... you can't let talent walk out the door, this staff and front office has to learn patience and how to hold onto and work with what they got.

danny green would have put the cavs over the top this year

Listen I wrote that after not sleeping all night and I am sure you can easily find many, many things wrong with it.

However one of those things is not that it was a huge mistake to get rid of Danny Green. Dude is only 24 and would be killing it now and in the future with Irving kicking it out to him on the 3 point line after penetrating. Not to mention SG is the weakest part of the team right now.

That list is ridiculous. The only player on that list that was a mistake was Danny Green. And like many people have pointed out, Harris clearly looked better than Green back when Green was released. Obviously, hindsight is 20/20...which your post is a perfect example of.

Hickson and Sessions were both going to be FAs. Sessions was clearly either (a) not going to sign with the Cavs, or (b) want more money than a backup PG is worth. Hickson was also going to be a FA, and he made it perfectly clear that he expected a near max contract.

As for Lester Hudson and Ben Uzoh -- if you think that they are "talent walking out the door," then you have no idea what real NBA talent is. We can find guys like that every season.

Once the goto the other side of the fence their "talent" when they are here they are "scrubs"

perception wisewhen someone joins Cleveland they automatically are less talented than what they were a few days before. when they leave the talent returns and multiplies.

Cavs will acquire a scorer in the offseason. thats why I am not disappointed about lester hudson. He apparently didnt want to play here either so he wasnt a piece anyway. on to better things he said. going out the door

Luke harongody messed things up too that prick!

Shouldn't have let Hudson go.. Plain and simple. If it was the Cavs that balked at something as small as a vet min contract; then it was a mistake by the front office. If it was Hudson who said "No Thanks," which I doubt, then fine. But no excuses.

How do you know what he did? Not one person here knows what went on. He is going to get a chance to play in the playoffs for his hometown team. Seems like a heck of an edge for Memphis. If they offered him the same vet minimum deal, why would he not go there?

Finnan misreported in his tweet earlier in the season that Hudson would be with the Cavs for the remainder of the season. I posted this info in the Lester Hudson thread. I apologize for the misinfo.

I actually should have known better than to repost anything Finnan says. We've been burned before. He makes shit up or has terrible sources or somewhere in between.

Yes. SOME people actually value playing for their hometown team. Every kid dreams of that growing up. If I somehow was talented enough to be a boarder line NBA player I would try my hardest to suit up for the Cavs...........don't worry guys, I'd drive that fucking tank to the promised land!

As I recall, I used the word "if" twice, with subsequent conditionals throughout the paragraph. Don't know how you missed that. ;)
