Anderson Varejao

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Hmmmmm.

So is Griffin even as good as prime Amare? I realize he is a good player, but I am not sad that he is not on my team.

Blake is a solid player, but in terms of his real ability and what he brings to a team, I think he's an overrated player. I don't really think he's a huge difference maker.

Wowzers.. Would hate to lose Andy, but if it meant getting back Asik, the pain would go away quickly.

I thought Asik wanted out bc he didn't want to be a backup. Would he not be a backup here? And I thought Andy was part of the plan to create cap space for a max player this summer.

God, I don't know about this Asik guy.

Varejao is one of my favorite players in any Cleveland sport ever. Sometimes I just want to build the guy a fuckin statue, he's a role model for how to compete. That being said, he's busted his ass year after year. He deserves to go and contend for a championship, because his efforts could be the difference between a team getting a ring or not. Believe that shit.

Just remember Leon Powe's impact on the Celtics, if they didn't have his efforts in 08, they don't gain the critical inches to win that game which ultimately won them the series and a championship.

I'd wish Andy well, I'd love to see him in a championship series where he could snag a pivotal 16 boards, hit some clutch jumpers and will his team over the hump. I'd be drinkin beer like a damn fool for that guy, his effort could be so much more valuable elsewhere.

I'd be heartbroken though, it would be so weird not seeing him out there after a damn near decade here.

Will Asik hurt our cap flexibility? Doesn't he make 15 million next year? Andy is scheduled to make about 10 million next season.

Edit: Answered by Wuck in the Asik thread:

The cap hit for Asik in 2013-2014 would be $8.3M and in 2014-2015 would also be $8.3M. There are some reports that whatever team has him in 2014-2015 would have to pay him $15M, but the cap hit would still be $8.3M.

He would get more minutes here and be a factor. I think he was upset playing behind Howard who I heard can tick players off. He would be In a better situation In Cleveland all around. He would be getting close to starting minutes and gives us a starting defensive If Bynum goes down. It makes sense for the Cavs to do this as we do not have a young center to build around. His contract Is my issue actually would It hurt Us.

Yeah... I wouldn't want Asik coming here bitching about not starting, and I'd rather start Andrew Bynum all day long.

I just can't help but feel the Asik rumor is just Grant trying to be an ancillary piece in facilitating the Asik deal while picking up a piece or two.

Bynum is gone if you added Asik.

To have a full max slot for the summer of '14 I think we were going to have to renounce Andy if we kept Bynum. Asik and Andy are a wash financially, so that would mean we have to decline Bynuim's option and renounce his rights instead if we kept Asik.

how would asik even make us better? what is he better at than andy?

I see him as the best defensive pure center in the game. He protects the rim better than Andy, and is one of the best outlet passers in the game, period. Would really help us in getting out and running off misses. Can't discount he's rarely out with injuries. If Andy goes, we want to get a big like Asik back in return. It would hurt to see Andy leave, though.

it would be weird to move andy and still not fill our biggest hole

hmmm
