I'll play my useless son-of-a-doctor card (we're both sports fans, so we've had these conversations many, many times): if there's still swelling, they might not be able to see the tear. My guess is that it will come down to pain: if it hurts, he won't play; they'll reevaluate tomorrow, then in a week and so on until there's no pain. The last thing you want to do is let him back on the court and exacerbate whatever's wrong (if it's more than a bruise).

Is this forum always so overwhelmingly negative/ doom and gloom about almost everything, or is this year just different because of the higher expectations coming into it?

Pretty sure it's because Cleveland sports in general are cursed, so fans have just become accustomed to dealing with worse than the worst-case scenario.

I want Deng. He is only 28 and could be the 4th best all around sf in the league which happens to be the most loaded position. I know he is a "rental", but it would be easier to convince him to re-sign than sign imo. Holding out for Lebron to come back is a huge mistake as it isn't likely to happen.

As for Gasol, he is 5 years older and will be hitting the big man wall very soon. No thanks.
