Got the DV8 drilled on Tuesday, guy seemed pretty good though he didn't watch me throw any balls (dunno if that would have helped since I threw no-thumb style but eh). Measured my hand all different ways, etc. he had great things to say about the DV8. Immediately after I bowled four games and didn't break 120, lol. Ball was throwing me.
Bowled in the league last night, felt okay warming up with the ball so I decided to stick with it. Bowled about 150, 180, 150. Surprisingly fatigue wasn't an issue, i was throwing it harder at the end of the night than when I started. Had three gutter balls on the night, two of which came after back to back strikes, ugh - would have had my best game in weeks if I didn't do that. And the third game was five open then five closed, hah.
I think next week will be really good though.
Not getting as much turn as when I used no thumb and the lane ball, but I think I will have wayyy more consistency with this approach. When I throw this new ball good, it's GOOD, pins just explode, so much action. I can't let this ball get as far outside as the lane ball though, don't have enough strength/torque in my throw to bring it all the way back to the pocket. Sill turns pretty hard in the back end though despite my lack of torque. Few times I hit the pocket on het he wrong side but the amount of action I got still netted a strike.
Can't get the 10 pin spare though for the life of me with this ball, that used to be automatic with the house ball. Oddly enough with the house ball I struggled getting any spare when anything was left on get the left side of the lane, seems to be opposite with this ball.
I was also dealing with gas all night and that probably hurt my game as well.
