Why? To restart the tank? He should play as soon as he is capable. He looked like it might be starting to come together for him in recent games. He doesn't need an extended layoff to throw him out of rhythm again.

To allow his knee to be 100%. He is lucky the injury is fairly mild. No reason to risk further injury to a key component.

Waiters Podcast

If this hasn't been posted already Dion talks about a bunch of stuff including the myth flying around ESPN that he and Kyrie hate each other.

Can you give a brief synopsis?

It's fantastic and pretty eye opening. Maybe I can give a summary later.

Basically, you'll like the kid and understand him a lot more.

Dion's interview starts about halfway through; I had to sit through about an hour to get to it.

I'll just paraphrase for those that don't want to/can't listen.

Sekou said Dion looks way different from last year, asked him what changed for him

Dion said "just having a year under his belt in the nba, going out there with the "wolves"; Coming with a different mind-state and focus. Feels like he worked hard this summer, frustrating season but feel the Cavs found a niche with four game win streak before all-star weekend. Thinks team was frustrated with high expectations to go along with no coach and players.

D feels the Cavs are playing more up-temp, playing through mistakes without looking over their shoulder from making one mistake and having fun playing that way

Dion feels the game is easier once the game slows down. It's like night & day from his rookie year though it's not like he knows everything but he's more patient. Said last year it seemed like the lane would open up and close that fast but it's easier for him.

Dion said him & Kyrie grew up "best of friends" going at each other in camps and such but on this level they're similar because it's like they both need the ball, so it's like they had to say "look, someone need to run the floor and they'll look for the other one. He said he feels like at the end of the day no-one can stay in front of them. Dion said he told Kyrie that he has to keep the pressure on the defense and he needs to do the same and just make the easy pass.

Dion said it's a dog playing each other in practice and they like to guard each other. He said all the rumors are BS and really frustrating because he can't say anything and people are just gonna assume. He said he'd never put his hands on Kyrie. They used to sleep in the same dorm rooms in camps. Only thing they can do to get rid of the rumors are win.

He said he lost three games his sophomore year and then coming into the league "you might lose ten games in a row"

last year, they'd be up 28 at halftime, Dion'd be happy, but they'd be unable to win and he couldn't believe it. Going to(went?) to Syracuse on saturday to support them, said they're having a tremendous season. Beside winning a championship, feels Boeheim having the best 4-5 seasons of his career, doing great bringing players in. Feels good to be an Orangeman, feels good to be a Cavalier. Has no complaints in life right now

I suspect how the Cavs do without Dion tomorrow will probably give a clue how fast he is back.

I just listened to that interview with Dion that was posted a couple days ago. I like how Dion called Kyrie out for his tendency to walk the ball up the court, and how they'd both be more effective if they constantly run-and-gunned.
And he has a point. One of the things this win streak has shown is there's very few guys that can keep up with Kyrie and Dion when they both run.

I also really like how before the interview all of them were talking about Dion like typical ESPN reporters would but by the end they seemed to really like him and how he "kept it real."
