The "What are you playing now?" Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Man, the end of the newest episode of The Walking Dead was fantastic. It's sad how much better this game is than the awful TV show, while functioning much like a TV show itself.

Agree. So I went with Clementine
staying in the room and watching Ken wreck shop on Bill. Says that everyone remembered
so I wonder how that's going to affect Clementine's arc.

Also got
Reggie
killed. Felt pretty awful about it.

I don't think it was possible to not get
Reggie
killed, since there was nothing at the end of the game that indicated that it was a choice. I tried to protect him by
saying it was my fault
, but he got killed anyway. I also don't think it's possible to get through the first section of the game without
checking the metal door, as I believe that's was triggers Troy (I think that was his name) getting pissed and coming into the room and yelling at Reggie.

And yeah, I stayed in the room too.

What did you do at the very end of the game?
I chopped Sarita's arm off. The way she looks at you and screams was incredible, as was the way the game just cuts to credits after that.
This game just understands how to pull off moments like that in a way the show doesn't seem like it ever will. So great.

Ah ok, good to know about Reggie. I took the blame too, but I wonder if anyone worked on the plants without helping the other girl.

I also
chopped her arm off
. Reggie claimed that he was able to survive because of it, which I'm still hesitant to believe. We'll see. The game slyly kept
Sarita
out of the previews for next episode. Telltale really nails the choice mechanism. Nothing else really comes close.

I don't think it would have mattered if you did your own work or not given the context.

I've really enjoyed the Front Office Football strategy simulation game for the NFL for the past several versions. It's basically old school interface wise, but the in depth stat modeling engine is great and building a team over 50 years is fun. The creator is looking to get a green light over on Steam, so maybe if you have a spare few minutes you could chip in and help?

I've been playing Bound By Flame, while waiting for Watch_Dogs to release. It got a lot a lot of mixed reviews, but it is seriously kicking my ass. I am playing on the hardest difficulty, and enemies kick my ass.

So if you don't know what it is, it is an rpg. Three skill progression trees, and three I guess you could call them perk trees.

It is pretty fun, but low budget.

Story seems interesting, but there is very little back story. It seems you have to search out the backstory by finding npcs.

Edit: is anyone considering picking up wolfenstein tomorrow? It looks like a fun game, and for Canadians it is nearly 30 bucks off if you are a member of ps+

So is Bound By Flame purchase-worthy? Or is it a "wait for a price drop" type of game?

And I am probably going to buy Wolfenstein for the PC. I haven't played a AAA game in a good long while. Definitely getting Watch Dogs too. Not sure for which platform yet.

If anyone wants to play an amazing 360/Xbone game, check out Super Time Force. The gameplay reminds me a lot of Contra, but with some major twists.

Basically, you have roughly sixty seconds to complete a level, but when you die, run out of time, or force yourself out of time, you can rewind the game to a point of your choosing, choose a different character (or the same character) and continue the level alongside your previous character(s). It's basically impossible to complete a level in just one life, so each level becomes a puzzle of how to get by each challenge. You die from one hit, so the game is difficult, but you have so many lives that it adds to the puzzle.

The first boss fight in the game was awesome. It took me about ten lives to get through it, but it was fun trying to figure out the best combination of characters. The previous levels offered a similar challenge. There are multiple characters (you start with three and can unlock many more...I have only unlocked one additional so far), and each plays differently and requires different strategies, which play into how you can get through different obstacles in each level.

Just an all around unique, great game. Highly recommended. Watch some videos to get a true idea of how unique the gameplay is.

Well I bought it for 50 bucks. I don’t personally regret that, because I haven't bought a game since March. That said, I don’t know that it is worth 50 bucks... I don’t like to recommend stuff because everyone has different tastes, but I've got about 4 hours into it, and I am not very far into it. I just reached the first town lol.

Seems relatively content rich, but so far it is linear, which isn't rpg like to me. Maybe that changes, I mean I'm still in the "intro" part of the game so to speak.

The enemies are tough. Even with the dual wield dagger (Ranger) class and the flaming weapon spell, enemies are sponges. I've had to restart a fight likely 20 times.

Fun game overall. The times I die are my fault, or at least it feels that way.

I got Wolfenstein, and am downloading it now. Honestly 53 bucks was too good to pass up. With gas, I saved about 40 bucks.

Yeah I went ahead and pre-ordered Wolfenstein on Steam last night, mostly so I could just go ahead and pre-load it. It's looking like it's getting pretty good reviews now that the embargo is lifted, so I don't regret my purchase.

I might check out Bound By Flame later this summer once the gaming dry spell hits. Between Wolfenstein and Watch Dogs I doubt I'll have enough time for anything other than smaller, indie games like Super Time Force for a while.

That is likely a wise choice. I mean it is some fun, but now with Wolfenstein out, I agree it should last a week to watch dogs, and watch dogs should last pretty much until the last of us comes out (if you are going to buy that I mean). Tlou lasted me 2 days the first time, 10 hours a day lol. So bbf should hopefully last me until the destiny beta in july.

I just don't have the time that I used to to play games. Between social obligations, two dogs, a girlfriend, my ever-expanding DVR queue, and whatever book I'm reading, a game has to be very compelling for me to stick with it. It's sounding like the new Wolfenstein fits that description, which is cool since I haven't really played a great single-player shooter in a good long while.

I definitely do recommend Super Time Force to anyone, though. I only played it for about forty five minutes, but could tell it was a keeper. It's difficult without being frustrating, and has a great sense of humor.

I completely understand time constraints. I don’t even have a whole heck of a lot going on, but I find myself overwhelmed at times. Pretty much only treyarch cods (zombies) can pull me away from life for an extended period.

I've been going through and playing Skyrim again.

I'm not at all disappointed with my decision. Forgot just how big this game is.
