While this would be awesome...if we just used the MLE on Miller, how are we picking up Okafor?

No MLE other than the Room MLE for teams that were under the cap.

Vet mins are based on service. No limit on how many are signed, except the size of the roster (and how many of the 2nd-round picks we sign). Here's a chart: http://basketball.realgm.com/nba/info

he's actually a very good option and brings exactly what they need to the frontcourt.

more importantly, they really can't afford to be picky. varejao is massively injury prone and should they trade for love, he doesn't have the best track record either as far as staying on the court. getting birdman and then still making a trade was easily the best option.

that center rotation is an enormous risk. who knows if okafor can even play now.

Me too. He's already a 2-time champion, and our guard rotation is already pretty crowded unless there's a Waiters trade coming. It's not like Ray Allen has anything left to prove or play for...

I think the "will" sign is important. I still think we try to find someone to use up the rest of the cap just to get a contract that could be traded. Then we can sign Miller.
