Bring Larry off the bench. If he pouts, give his minutes to Devin, SB or Snow. Damon was a big part of our win streak earlier in the season. Whatever DJ and MB have going on, they need to solve it. DJ opens up our offense because he's hitting shots.

Our offense bogs down and stagnates when Larry's in the game because teams just sag off and dare him to make shots. Couple that with the fact that he's soft when he goes to the basket. The added weight has done wonders for his quickness.:thumbdown. Who cares how Larry feels?

Id also like to see Dw Jones get some of Drew and Newbles minutes. He looks like he still has room to develop.

Why are we panhandling minutes to Larry? Play him when he's effective or until he shows that he will be consistent.

I disagree.

Do not start Damon Jones, but I believe we should bring him off the bench. I was about to post something about Damon about giving him minutes, not starting. Unless he will start in front of Sasha, then I'm OK with that.

Ive been saying for a while now that it makes no sense to have Damon rotting on the bench. The guy came to play this year and has played very well every time he's gone out on the court. Damon racking up DNP's all season long has made no sense to me. Unfortunately, I think his time here is still limited, which is too bad because the guy really is a great shooter, and it looks like he is playing VERY hard whenever he's on the court.

I'd start Damon. If I was Pat Riley and Damon was in the city he wants to be in. Screw him.

Moo

Not a chance. I might consider Devin over Sasha, to get some energy out of the starters.

IMO, its who finishes the game rather than who starts. We've been locking teams down in the 4th quarter lately with really only 1 starter on the floor, sometimes 2. Its been working. I stick with it.

He needs to be part of the rotation.

funny you should post this after the game when Larry scored 14 points on 6 of 12 shooting, including 2 of 4 from 3.

Lebron = - 1
Damon Jones = +27

:)

Start him at center...

It's a shame. Damon could be so valuable to this team if he would give the constant effort. You see him directing traffic today? Making the extra pass? Closing out hard on shooters?

Yeah, well that doesn't happen if he's not scoring points. He played great today, but unless he turned over a new leaf, he's still a huge liability if he isn't raining 3s.

Lebron is so deadly when you have 2 guys on the perimeter that make you pay for selling out to stop him. Calderon and Parker were getting schooled when they had to man up on Lebron. The Cavs didn't have to use a bunch of picks to get Lebron space as the D couldn't afford to sag off of Daniel or Damon. That provides Lebron all the operating room he needs to devastate.

That 4th quarter is what the Cavs could look like on a regular basis if they landed a legit 2 guard who showed up nightly instead of the trainwreck backcourt we currently display.

MB deserves some credit. Going small and spreading the floor with shooters worked wonders. I don't think Lebron does that with Larry or Sasha on the floor....or even Z or Drew for that matter. It's gimicky and not going to work all the time. But he picked a good time to try it because the matchups weren't going to kill us defensively. Lebron ate up everyone who tried to cover him. I almost felt sorry for Calderon when LJ broke his ankles. Big time minutes by DJ, he stepped up when his number got called. Huge shot by Boobie.

Start Damon? Let's not get carried away...

i always saw damon as an effective role player, and i thought he played well enough earlier this season to get a decent amount of playing time. he was making good passes, and also taking it in to the basket. how he ended up at the end of the bench the past 7 games still boggles me, and just shows bad team management by coach brown.

You do know the Cavs won 6 of those games, right? Scary as it may be, this has been the best stretch for the team this season so far.

Damon is the fifth guard on this team and is being used accordingly. It's nice that he can be effective in that role.

Why not start Damon? When Larry is playing off the ball looking to score aggressively, he shoots a low % and takes shots away from Lebron/Gibson/Z. When he's playing the point, the defense slants to triple Lebron on the wing and leaves Larry basically unguarded at the top of the key. Either way the rest of the team is suffering.

Larry played predominately PG when he was in today and had 0 assists and 2 turnovers. He also didnt play past the 3rd quarter. He was ineffective on the defensive end even though he had 3 steals; thus, the -14 +/-, which is far more indicative of his performance today than the 14 points.

Start Damon with Sasha or even Devin. Why not shake up the line up? Larry and Sasha have been consistently ineffective for a pretty long stretch. Damon played well when Larry was hurt and the team played better as a whole when he was in the rotation with Lebron.

Hughes DNP during our longest win streak of the season, but Damon logged heavy mpg. Then Lebron got hurt. Play Damon the 20+ mpg instead of Hughes.

But our Sasha-Hughes backcourt is winning! They're like 1182280-7 when starting together... Why mess with that?!?!
