2014 Cleveland Browns

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
On taking a WR last year:

"At the end of the day, an offensive lineman affects every single play of the game. A WR may touch the ball 10x during a game."

Would you hesitate on taking a QB in 1:

"Nope. I would not."

Farmer claims no way Haslam made the call on Manziel.

Rizzo is saying he knows someone who saw the draftboard and that Bridgewater was the top QB.

Sickening

Rizzo literally knows nothing. His sources seem to be John Telich and Bernie. You can guess how "in the know" they are... It may seem shallow, but I buy Farmer's rendition.

I don't think Dowell Loggains will be back. Personally. A QB coach, shouldn't have that kind of attention at all, let alone all season and into the off-season.

Rizzo is saying this? Well it must be true than since everything he's said in the past was true!

OBR said Teddy and Carr were the top QBs on Ray's board FWIW

Rizzo's "rumors" are so absurdly fantasy it's sickening.

It's pretty clear he doesn't want to base the offense off of 1 player but a unit. He wants a Russell Wilson type QB. Someone who is smart, prepares well and plays within the system. A game manager. He doesn't need a Peyton Manning who puts everything on his back and carries the team to victory.

Should have drafted Teddy then.

Edit: I'm not going to question Farmer or use hindsight, most everything he touched last offseason was excellent. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

Dowell wasn't in the room when Johnny was picked. The homeless guy was, though!

I like the fact he is backing up his boss and not throwing Haslam under the bus...even though Haslam deserves it.

What really matters to me is the future of the Browns drafts, not the past. We have been covering the Cavaliers drafts for a long time... I know exactly what it looks like when an owner makes strong suggestions about a pick, only to read later that this coach or that coach really made the call.

So fine, if we are being provided sound bites that Haslam was hands off in the draft, I'll just hope the press are watching very carefully in this upcoming draft. There is no time like the present to redirect a dangerous course of action.

"At the end of the day, an offensive lineman affects every single play of the game. A WR may touch the ball 10x during a game."

...and a quick follow up statistic: Most offensive formations use 2-4 receivers on the field per offensive play, and our frat boy backup quarterback ended up averaging 3 total plays per game. I get what he is saying, and receivers are a little overrated in this fantasy football driven media. You still need some threats to get that ball in the end zone. Hawkins was known as the bubble screen guy, and he ended up the top consistent target in intermediate routes.

That said, I just realized I likely won't be watching Nick McDonald play another snap at center for the Browns. Work that into your pitch for season ticket sales next year, Jimmy!

If this was in response to him drafting Bitonio over a WR in the 2nd, good fucking call Farmer! That was a hell of a draft pick.

Some rumors floating around Shanny is about to leave over on OBR

Might be complete nonsense but figured I'd toss it over here as well
