Don't really want to be the one to bring this up but did anyone else catch the stat-stuffing effort from Kevin Love on another lop-sided losing team?

Just some food for thought.

Can't tell if serious.

If you are: Love gets criticized when he plays poorly. He gets criticized when he plays well. Ok. Good to know.

I see some are just hell-bent on running him out of town. Good plan. Good thing the Cavs can just add Marc Gasol and Anthony Davis in his place.

It was bad.

I said in the game thread he and Kyrie should petition the league to add a red cape to the team uniform because that is about the level of effort they give on that side of the ball.

Love scored 30 today, but gave up so many it almost didn't matter because he was getting abused on the defensive side of the ball.

This team has a pedestrian ceiling if he and Kyrie continue to insist on being only 1 way players. You just can't win titles like that.

we get a stud at the 4 and people still wanna bitch.. if only he could dominate on D as well and had the power to magically make your wives blow you on command then he would not be considered a scrub and a detriment to the team

Everyone knew Love was poor on defense. Believe it or not, he has actually improved. Now he is just below-average. :)

But in all seriousness, everyone knew the Cavs needed a rim-protector. That was an implied part of bringing Love over. Rome wasn't built in a day. When they get a real center, his defensive liabilities will be masked and he will get better looks on offense.

The Cavs are looking at the mid-term. This season is one to lay a foundation. Pieces are still missing.

Typical K love game. 30 and 10 and we get blown out. Love is not an impact player. He puts up stats, thats it. Thats why I hate stats in basketball because they rarely reflect on how it impacts the game.

Yes. Love is the only reason they lost. He single handily lost the game for them. He forces Irving to miss shots and he slipped Dion a mickie that made him regress to a low BB IQ chuckmeister. It was his bad D alone that overshadowed the brilliant defense the rest of the team played.

Indeed.

When did I say he was the reason we lost the game? I said he wasnt an impact, in which he wasnt.

You picked a poor time to make this sort of point. Kevin Love was the only one doing anything against the Mavs. Love also won us the Hornets game while everyone stank.

You're probably a big Melo fan as well aren't you?

No, but I don't have it in for certain players either.

As for the empty stats argument, how about this:

16-48 FGA by Kyrie Irving and Dion Waiters. But for Kevin Love the Cavs lose against Charlotte.

6-23 (and 24-65 by everyone else) by Irving and Waiters. But for Love, the game is lost in the first quarter.

That's 22-71 by our guards over the last two games and you have the balls to blame it on Love?

Please. Anyone that blames the Cavs' woes on a single player at this point is a moron.

I wish I still had this much optimism. Everyone thinks we have the pieces to magically add a guy like Chandler or Howard and I honestly think even with one of those centers we would still be poor defensively.

In the games Love scores 30 there is still something I find off about his game. He just doesn't have the intangibles that a superstar player should have plain and simple. The problem is we have 2 of these type of players that are exactly the same. Its like going to a restaurant and spending all your money on a big steak, but you can't afford the sides and a drink with your meal. Regardless of the pieces we are going to add it won't be enough to win a title, the pieces simply don't match.

On another note, we can begin to track stats based off whether Love is better with or without the beard.

What do folks think? Do we like the new look?
