I thought that we didn't need him. I said he ads scoring and rebounding only and I am not even sure about the rebounding note.

Wiggins on this team would rule.

I think we are in a tight spot because Love bleeds possessions. Not getting the stop hurts the offense so bad.

I really want him to turn it around, but I hate his game and his lack of athleticism. I said he was undersized before we got him and people thought it was blasphemous. He looks small out there and you get a guy with length on him and he can't do much.

Love needs to take about two weeks off like LeBron and get healthier.

Then the coaching staff really needs to sit down with him, Irving, and LeBron and figure out the best way to utilize him.

He's going to be a tremendous piece once the lanes to the basket start to close in the playoffs.

Love will spread the floor and give LeBron/Irving more room to operate.

The largest group supporting the Love trade were the fan boys in the media and the frontrunner fans who just came back after 4 years. "Gotta win now," they said. It's like they were just going off of star power alone. The basketball community and people that were regulars here during the dark ages were more divided. Having Wiggins would have eliminated the need to play Marion last night, for example.
Or perhaps the pro Love group just wanted him because he was a superstar

If the Love trade doesn't happen and the Cavs went into the season with Andy, Tristan and Bennett as their bigs, they would have a zero percent chance of doing anything in the playoffs without a massive trade once Andy got injured.

You can complain all you want about Love's play but the lack of balance on this roster without him would be abysmal.

He was out last night and no one felt "if only love was healthy!!?"

I think this is just faulty logic though.

Does everyone honestly think Wiggins would be getting the 15-18 shots a game he's been putting up? To work through the kinks and slowly develop more confidence? Kevin Love, a guy who averaged 26 points the year before, is being largely ignored....but a rookie playing out of position is going to get to hoist up 5 more shots per game? And continue to be carted out there on a team trying to win a title?

Imagine if he had shot 39% the first two months in Cleveland. Would he have been benched at some point? He'd have been all over SC and pundits would be roasting him as a bust. His confidence would likely have spiraled out of control and he could have been damaged goods, regardless of his potential. He's been afforded the opportunity to grow and work through those pains in relative anonymity. I don't think anyone can quantify how important that has been for his development.

Good job taking the protagonist and optimistic approach to the Wiggins trade. However I disagree with your assessment that being in Minnesota has somehow done wonders for his development vs what could have been done here. The fact of the matter is that none of us will ever know the answer. But going into the season if anything else people would've thought that his development would've been accelerated by having 2 star players like LeBron and Kyrie around him giving him every opportunity to get easy buckets and not worry about scoring. To argue that playing him at SG vs SF would've in some way hindered his development is wrong to me as well. Many of you were complaining about his weight and argued that he should be playing SG before the season started anyway. Wiggins is every bit as athletic as young LeBron and the latter never had any trouble guarding PGs, SGs or SFs. Imagine if Dion Waiters shot less than 39% his first two months this season? Oh wait he did. I don't get your point. Wiggins is proving to be a smart player that knows when to pick his spots and most people give a little leeway to rookies when they first start in the league. Oh but we were trying to win now and were championship favorites the pressure would've gotten to him! Can any of you that have been watching this team get blown out by garbage teams on a regular basis and barely have a 50% winning percentage half way through this season really say that this team has a win now mentality? Has Love really handled the pressure well? You are assuming that we'd have around the same record at this point with Wiggins that we do with Love which may be true. But you have to take into account the possibility that we would've flourished more with Wiggins than with Love. Maybe we would've used that Miami 1st round pick to get a guy like Thaddeus Young or managed a blockbuster trade for a big that wasn't as overhyped or overpriced as Love.

If saying that Wiggins wouldn't be quite the player he is today in Minnesota helps you cope with the Love trade then by all means keep telling yourself that.

Wait hold on i thought this was the Kevin Love thread. Am I in around the nba?

Anyway, i think that the love trade was necessary. I didn't like it, but it probably needed to happen. That being said, I am a huge Blatt supporter, and I cant for the life of me understand why Love is being used so inefficiently. Hopefully once the team starts to gel, love finds his place.

If Love were simply playing more efficiently (and consistently) we would be a force to reckon with. That's certainly not all on him. Heres to hoping it happens soon.

Any updates on Love's back?

Do we know his status for Monday?

Cavs flew home on Saturday morning, didn't practice, and didn't meet with the media.

Wiggins playing like this is not making it any easier for Love. Dude looks so depressed whenever I see him.
Hopefully Wiggins doing well will motivate Kevin to playing even better and harder.

Frankly, that is all we can wish for right now instead of going into suicide mode.

Still feel him carrying injuries is affecting his performance. I know he wants to show how tough he is and all that but the Cavs NEED a fully fit K Love to go to the NBA Finals. He is essential. So, I hope he gets a decent rest like LeBron so that he could play to his best.

Pretty confident that Kevin couldn't care less how Wiggins is playing.

ya know, as much as you guys hate on kevin love OFFENSIVE game, on the 4th best offense in the league, Hes the second most efficient offensive player (only to the greatest player thats ever played the game).

also, Im sick to fucking death of the toilet paper anaologies. We get it, its soft, and its poop. Groundbreaking comedy every time the comparison is made and a picture of Charmin is posted.

Also, maybe stfu considering he could barely walk and took a charge that almost killed him and all preceding and succeeding love geneology in one fell swoop.
