JR Smith

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
As long as you have Kyrie, LeBron, and Love, Smith will never be a first option. Smith has been great at being unselfish and trying to get Love involved. Not worried about Smith at all.

Dion is playing better than JR right now. He plays better defense too, but whatever we want to say.

They are playing almost the exact same, (JR is shooting a bit better) and JR was the throw in.

Remember, we got Shumpert and a pick that was key to get Mozgov too!!

Smith needs to stay a starter

bottom line

Smith's numbers as a starter (5 games):

Stats: 16.4 PPG, 3.4 REB, 2 AST, 2 STL
Shooting: (32/73) FG - 44%, (14/38) 3PT - 37%, EFG - 54.2%, TS - 55.3%

Even so, I think he settles in to his bench role. He'll likely log more minutes than Shump, regardless of where he starts the game.

In terms of fit, he's been very good thus far.

I think Smith will be a perfect 6th man. Our bench has tended to bleed big leads, mainly because we have little to no scoring and almost nobody who can create their own shot. Delly, Miller, Marion (eek), TT, etc need a guy who will not be afraid to shoot the lights out. Plus, when Shump starts, that's one less guy who will take many shots and it could give another distributor the chance to feed Love early when he likes to get comfortable on the elbow and low block.

He looks pretty good with the starting unit. If Love starts again, then we will have to bench JR tho.

Just lovin what i see from JR. He looks in check and focused.

I know we won't get perfect nights from him all the time, or even often, but you have to imagine someone with his ego wants to come in locked in and shut out the people shitting on him and saying he is going to ruin this team.

New York must have become REALLY toxic: the Melo effect? Back on a good team, this Smith looks like the guy who won 6th man of the year and looked dangerous during his time under Karl in Denver.

If Shumpert can bring the D, the projected 8 man playoff/critical game lineup of Mozgov, TT, Love, Lebron, JR, Marion Shumpert, and Irving looks very dangerous both on defense and offense. We look much more athletic and Smith will drill wide open jumpers all day. As long as he you don't have to rely on JR to run or create offense the guy can be deadly finisher/irrational confidence guy

Can't underestimate the ability to hit open shots (Miller, Joe Smith, Delly, Marion) have all failed at doing this from the 2 spot. Plus even though he's not a good defender at least he's got good length and hops (no more guys who can't jump or who have short arms0

JR doesn't like Cleveland's nightlife. Nothing to do here but play video games and order pizza :(

How refreshing having an athletic wing who can catch and shoot. I so don't miss Waiters pounding the ball, then driving to the hoop only to not be able to finish.
