Josh Gordon discussion

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
There is nothing that is gained by the Browns by releasing him.

Yes there is. Even if he's not allowed in the building, there's nothing stopping him from continuing to hang around teammates on a personal basis. Need to send a message to the remaining dumb fucks on our roster (looking at you Manziel and Gilbert). That message being, "act like this, and you're fucking gone."

Do people think he'll actually be released?

Jimmy Haslam and this organization have enabled him from the start. I'm sure we'll get a strongly worded statement about how disappointed Jimmy is in Josh Gordon but how it's important they stand by the guy, blah blah blah. Accountability.....

What a jackass. If you're going to ruin your career, at least do it using something sexy, like heroin.

Kid likes to party too much, I don't think that makes him a bad guy. However, when your career is on the line you might want to prioritize a little bit. Maybe stay at home and read a book?

Swagger seeping from his pores. Or something like that...

Because the only logical replacement to a guy who got kicked from D1 college football after two years is a guy who was kicked out after one?

Carter hit rock bottom and busted his ass in the CFL to rehab his career. Josh has been getting high/drunk at every stop and doesn't seem to know how to stop. Two different situations completely.

I think we should sign Duron Carter, draft Dorial Green-Beckham, mix in a little Flash Gordon every once in a while and start an MTV reality show....

I expect him to be cut very soon. If he turns his shit around and explodes for another team, good for him. But we can't keep waiting for this immature kid to grow up, it's time to move on for good and build this team the right way.

I agree with how you put it. I think there's going to be a lot of the "cut Gordon so he gets a reality check!" narrative happening here soon. Personally, I think that if that happens, the Browns are used as a scapegoat for a guy who has used every excuse possible to this point.

I don't blame Josh. He probably only had alcohol in his system from being in close proximity to Johnny Manziel. A sort of contact drunk, if you will.

I believe everyone should get a second chance, but wtf? Kid ain't got his head on straight. I for one am all about getting talent on this team, but this one needs to be let go. Talent means nothing, if it can't be used.

...He had a second chance, and a third, and a fourth, and so on. At what point is enough, enough?

Releasing him or retaining his rights will have no impact on who he maintains friendships with. Do you think if the Browns release him he will stop being friends with Manziel but if we keep him they will still be drinking buds? That doesn't make sense to me.

As far as the message, that's being handled by the NFL. If you act like this you can't play anymore. If that doesn't resonate with those guys it doesn't matter what the Browns say with their words or actions.

Keep him. Either he turns his life around (highly unlikely) and plays for us, or he keeps doing stupid shit and rots with us. I'm not giving him the opportunity to play for another AFC North team or the Patriots, fuck that.

Personally, I don't care anymore. Whatever happens, happens. I fully expect him to never play another down in the NFL.
