Playoff Positioning

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Dave, teams have hot stretches. It's not indicative of what kind of team they really are. Indiana does not have 64-18 talent. Washington is not suddenly an 18-64 team. You're putting way too much stock in one good run and one bad run. Neither of these teams are going to finish things out at that pace.

washington has been dogshit for about 33% of their season now. Is this a streak or is it indicative of how they are now?

pacers have lost like 12 games by less than 3 points.

we'll see how it ends up, but I like trends and some come for a reason (like milwaukees awful trade)

MIL getting beat now.

This week they get ORL at home, then travel to IND and MEM. There's a good chance the Pacers go around them by the end of next week.

It's gonna be MIL or CHA in round #1 folks. Chicago gets Indiana. Doesn't get much better than that for us. The NBA wins with both Rose and George returning in time to start that series.

They've been missing Bradley Beal. That's like us missing Kyrie. He came back on 2/28 and Washington has been 3-1 with him playing since.

Washington is 27-19 W-L when Beal plays this season.

Down goes MIL. Davis finishes with 43.

Whoa. The Wizards bored the Hornets collectively a new orifice, for the potential excretion of solid waste.

And the Hawks are seriously in a zone. They also inserted their erect members into the collective alimentary canals of the Kings, and subsequently made repeated thrusting movements, such that the Kings might have been moved to cry out, due to the extent of the discomfort.

Just realized I was getting my newly named Hornets wrong. I was referring to New Orleans above, not Charlotte. My bad.

I hope we avoid the pacers as well, but not at the expense of the #2 seed. As an organization and team we need to try to win every game we can and not get caught up with who we might play in the playoffs. I would rather Indy be thinking we want to avoid the Cavs and either lose or win to do it.

Just dodge the Pacers. With Paul George they're the best team in the bottom half. And yes, with Paul George they're better than Washington (did we not see this last year in the playoffs?). Now, maybe the Paul George coming back won't be the guy he was last year, but I'd rather not find out.

Statistics say at his age and iwth this injury, he's likely to be 80% of the player he used to be.

For the remainder of our season we have just two more back to backs. Both are against teams with losing records. March 15-16 against @Orlando and @Miami(only a 45 minute flight) and April 12-13 against @Boston and Detroit(we may be resting guys by then if we have the #2 seed clinched)

In that same time span, we have have FIVE sets of two full days off in between games. Perfect for a smart veteran team just finally getting to know each other on the court and a smart coaching staff.

Additionally, after Thursdays game in San Antonio we have 8 home games, 7 road games, with 12 of those remaining games being in the Eastern time zone and the other three East of the Mississipi in the Central time zone. Minimal travel time and minimal jet lag.

It really couldn't set up any better for us in the final 5 weeks as far as scheduling rest and practice time.
