Idk any reason why our lineup won't be Irving, Shumpert, LeBron, TT and Mozgov.

It'd be smart to only go either 7 or 8 deep as well. Don't really wanna see any lineup with either Kyrie or LeBron until Smith comes back.

I'm thinking Blatt will start James Jones, and then also play Miller and Marion about 15 minutes each. Based on how game one goes, he may change the starter at the 4 for game 2, going with whoever played the best in game 1.

I could see the Mozgov/TT combo having some value if the Cavs get a large lead and want to try and maybe improve their size/defense by getting the old dudes off the floor.

If Jones starts then LBJ will have to guard Noah...Noah will wreck Jones on the glass...personally I'd just like to see TT and Moz kill Chi on the boards on both ends

Jones is a defensive liability but he's probably the guy most likely to keep the Cavs in the flow of their more "normal" offensive approach they had with Love on the floor. Jones in theory can keep LeBron and Kyrie playing their winning style of basketball so long as the Chicago defense is forced to honor Jones' 3 point shot.

Thank god the game is almost here so we can see what the Cavs do lol.

If Blatt starts Jones there's going to be a collective groan, then boos as we go down 12 in the 1st quarter. Then lots of remotes getting thrown at TVs by halftime.

Sure, teams have to honor his 3pt shot, but he does literally nothing else and gives up too much on the defensive end. He can't play against NBA starters, as coach will quickly find out.

It's Blatt's own fault for this "2-bigs left" predicament- he should've been playing Shawn again long before Love went down...now Marion's going to have to go out there practically blind against an established 4 big man rotation. Blatt effectively screwed himself by not using him.

I disagree with this. There were 3 post players deserving of 30+ minutes a game (Love, TT, and Moz) between center and PF there is only 96 minutes available a game. People were already complaining about Moz not getting enough playing time. None of the celtics games were blowouts. So who's minutes are you going to cut to play Marion? And the only reason Jones got burn was at the end of quarters for his free throws and 3 point shooting.

Is there any chance the Cavs could just work out the LaMarcus Aldridge sign and trade now?

No reason to confuse what Kyie is, with what he may one day become.

Besides the fact that we don't have a backup PG if Delly starts, against the Bulls specifically it would just seem to create a lot of mismatches. Delly too slow to stay in front of Rose, and Irving & Shump too short to guard Butler and Dunleavy, and starting LeBron at 4 means the Bulls get to start beating him up early. We'd risk getting a lot of our players in to early foul trouble as well.

We may struggle on offense at the start of games, but I think we'd be better served at least starting off with a more defensive minded unit that doesn't create mismatches for the Bulls to exploit.

Mike Brown would probably start Thompson. We'll just have to see what Blatt comes up with. I'd like to see Marion, but I'm not watching him in practice.

Agreed. I think we start Marion because that means the least amount of change to rotations. TT can still play starters minutes off the bench, and hopefully one of Jones/Miller/Harris can find a hot streak.

I hear what you are saying. I think Shawn hasn't played in so long that we're going to start James Jones right out of the gate, but he's going to be quickly replaced by Marion.

I say fuck it, let Bron start at the 4 and just establish his tone right out of the gate. When the first substitution hits, James can go back to the 3.

I have a feeling we're going to see the most dominant LeBron James that we've seen all season. Not exactly an earth shattering prediction, but I think LeBron is so rested, so bored, so pissed off about Kevin that Chicago might be walking into a fucking predicament with this guy.

I think that jones will initially start and then Marion will be transitioned into the starter in a game or 2, but I do think jones poses serious problems for the Bulls in game 1-2. Especially if he is getting his charge calls because if we can get him to get calls on gasol or Noah or taj on switches, it would be a huge gut punch to their strong front line. And if he is hitting his threes it'll be even worse for the Bulls.

I think so too

remember the last time Lebron lost a Big 3 member... and everyone said his Team wont win the ring because of that?

yep.. 2012.. propably the best Lebron so far..

Lebron is at his best when he is pissed..or dismissed... or underrated..
and he propably qualifies for all 3 of those things right now...

so the Bulls will be in for some problems here guarding him.

This answer may come as a surprise to some: but next man up is LeBron.

He needs to willingly play PF full time at this point. He needs to get over the fact he hates it and realize it is our only realistic chance at winning a title now.

He does that, we will be there at the end. But he needs to step up and sacrifice his personal wants for the team's needs.

Good call.
