Quality NFL Prospect and the Heisman trophy don't go hand in hand.
More or less my point...
Jones has the NFL measurements, and if he put together a season statistically impressive enough to win the Heisman, it's hard to imagine he'd be anything but a consensus 1st round pick.

We are? The majority of people I've seen hyping him as an NFL prospect are the media and people with no OSU connection...it's not just a bunch of OSU fans.
I'd say there are two sides voicing their opinion on this board, and both seem to be at extremes:
1. Flail for Cardale... We should tank the season for the #1 pick and draft Jones, because he'll be the best NFL caliber QB to come out of the draft.
and 2. Jones has started only 3 games and despite his measurables he's a 4th round QB, 3rd round at best... Overhyped!
I think the truth is somewhere between. The guy is a stud built to a NFL frame, but he has shown some poor decision making and a lack of maturity from a leadership perspective dating back some time. But he stepped up and seemed to grow dramatically to finish off the season. If that maturity is realized, and he learns better how to read defenses, he seems like he could be a top collegiate prospect, and as such penciling him in to the 4th round seems a bit absurd and overcompensating to prove a point.
The fact is, the guy has only played 3 games, and all the hyperbole can only be resolved with more game film. If he isn't made a starter and plays 0 meaningful minutes going into the draft next season, I'd still bet money on him being a 2nd round QB. His size and athleticism is too tempting to pass up, even with a lack of game film.
