Right now, yeah, it's Anthony Davis. Durant wasn't the same guy this year obviously due to injury. He's not even as good as Seth, right now.
How can you judge Durant this year? He only played 27 games and most of those were through injury.
I really don't think that's an intellectually fair argument.
Taking Durant from where he left off; Anthony Davis and Steph Curry are not
anywhere near as good. They might be some day, but they are not as good today as Durant was when he was 25 years old.
Durant's not even in his prime yet.
He'll be 27 next season.
If we are talking about Durant at his best, it's pretty debatable.
We're talking about Durant's last healthy season, not necessarily at his best -- just his last season playing healthy, which is last season. It's not remotely debatable.
Davis is coming off the second best PER in the history of basketball though.
That says more about how PER is calculated than it does about Davis vs Durant.
Davis is a fucking animal. Going forward, it's not even close who I'd rather have between the two.
Me either...
We are talking right now, not all-time here. Durant might never be the same, that injury of his is pretty significant.
That may be, I think that's undeniable. My only point is that you can't say Davis is "better" than an unknown. We don't know if Durant comes back healthy or not; so instead, we should compare Davis and Steph to Durant's previous season, and in doing so, they are not better than he is/was.
If he comes back a different player due to his ailing foot injuries then we can reevaluate the situation, but to do so now is very premature.
Not talking Durant off his MVP season, since that's moot.
Wtf? That was just last year.. Lol... That's his last healthy season.
If you're talking about a guy who basically missed the season and only played 27 unhealthy games, I dunno what to tell you - that's just a really odd way to measure someone like Durant. I'd only think to do this if my intention was to deliberate undervalue him.
