The Official Game of Thrones [A Song of Ice and Fire] Thread (includes spoilers)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
You guys can't honestly believe he STAYS dead. They have to act like he's gone. Even the slightest suggestion otherwise ruins the shock. Melisandre happens to stroll in to Castle Black? Why would she ever come back there?

Man, can't believe they killed Myrcella too. That one caught me off guard. Right after her and Jaime got on good terms.

Once again, show literally has zero even remotely happy moments.

Loved that they killed Myrcella if only for the fact that it meant Dorne did something impactful this season. Still, the Sand Snakes were a huge disappointment. But Myrcella was never long for this world regardless.

EDIT: And can we talk about how pitch perfect the walk of atonement was? Robert Strong? I better not hear a purist say one negative thing about that scene. Incredible.

Ton of shit in tonight's episode, jesus christ. Has there ever been a more jam packed episode?

Myrcella, assumed dead
Stannis, assumed dead
Meryn Trant, dead
Arya, loses eye sight (temporarily?)
Cersei, walk of shame :chuckle: , carried by The Mountain
Dany, kidnapped?
Sansa Stark, assumed escape? Christ, given how far that fall was, she should be dead too :chuckle:

If I were to spoil this for someone, I wouldn't know where to begin lol

You forgot to say that Jon Snow is also assumed dead. :p

Even if you know what is going to happen it still sucks - At this rate I may have to start rooting for the White Walkers!!

I'd totally shame...shame...shame...Cersei some more.

I'd totally be that guy who wiggled his weenie at her from the crowd.

She looked pretty damn good in the buff for someone who's as old as me.

The last part gave me chills. Like you are almost relieved when Qyburn wraps her up and she is back surrounded by Lannister men, and I smiled when Ser Robert Strong/The Mountain picked her up.

Then I remembered this is fucking Cersei, one of the worst villains still standing in this series.

Yeah, I'm more wondering if Stannis is truly dead. If he is, I really am not sure how to interpret his story. The false warrior of light, whom Melisandre realized too late was not actually Azor Ahai? And burning Shireen, an act so despicable that it just had to be his undoing- his army deserts him, his wife kills herself, and the Boltons destroy him and he is left in ruins to die by the hand of the woman who swore to avenge his brother whom he killed.

It's not a bad story. But...it is certainly unsatisfying. I'm not sure what the endgame was for him- that he's a tragic character, I guess? Can be said for many players in this story, though. Maybe his thing is that his plot is meant to be a tragedy, that he was never Azor Ahai yet was led on this endless crusade where he sacrificed everything, and in the end it got him nothing but sorrow and a cold death.

Hmm.

I'll have to wait and see what happens in TWOW, I suppose. And to see if he really is dead.

That's what he has to say no matter what.

Probably so. So maybe no one died. Lol. If Stannis is dead, at least he got a good death. Went out like a boss killing those guys surrounded by the broken corpses of who knows how many he also slew. Didn't beg or try to lie. Best death of any of the Five Kings.

I am also under the impression that despite being outnumbered by the Bolton's magic army, that his forces inflicted considerable casualties. The Boltons will be easy picking for the Knights of the Vale. I can't believe I have to root for Baelish now. FUCK.

Oh man join the team. I've been rooting for Baelish for years.

But come on guys. Jon's not dead. She's there for an obvious reason. He's coming back to life and you all know it. I get that it's a sad night considering the Cavs lost, but don't let the despair get the better sense of you. He's very clearly coming back.

EDIT: And Stannis is probably alive. She swings above his head out of mercy or something. If they don't show the death, he probably doesn't die.

My question is does this give us any hint as to how the battle will go in TWOW?

Aren't the Manderleys waiting to backstab the Boltons?

There a chance that Brienne realizes she needs Stannis to rescue Sansa.

But the again, he appeared to be in bad shape. And how do the Boltons return to Winterfell without his head.

Some weak stuff that won't be in the book. Oh well.

I've been wanting to state for a while, GRRM is struggling to finish these books. If you check out his blog you will see he has canceled appearances to write.

I've seen and read interviews where he appears extremely stressed. Complains of writers block and says he thinks everything he takes to publisher is junk.

Frightening to think of him in this way when we book readers trust him so much. But the game has changed now. He's literally in a corner and I hope the influences don't ruin the greatest fictional tale of our time.
