if they can close stuckey at the mmle they should do it immediately. if they then re-sign smith, personally i wouldn't care about adding additional salary through using haywood's contract.

Is that legitimately what they're talking about paying him? I feel like he should be lucky to have guaranteed money coming this season at all.
I don't know, I just guessed. Haven't heard the slightest clue about what he could get. Just wouldn't surprise me the way contracts are being handed out. He is a young athletic 3 and D type player. Being under contract at that range in 3-4 years could look like a steal. But I have no clue what he will get paid. I've been trying to ask people and nobody answers.

If they want to sign Beverley and McDaniels (Bev in the 7-10 mil range? and McDaniels in 5-7 range?), maybe Ariza becomes more expendable. I don't know the Rockets cap situation though.
Theirs is much like ours, the only two limits too how much they can spend on their own FA's are how high will their owner go on the tax and are there any weird non Bird restriction on Beverly/Smith/McDaniels.

Not sure why'd they want to trade Ariza though. Great contract value and good 3 and D

I feel like he got a little overrated by fans because of his highlight reel athleticism. I believe he can be a useful role player, but he can't shoot or score at all right now in any capacity.

Haywood and Christmas to Clips for JJ and something small to make math work (if needed). Frees up $8m plus for clips to sign koufos and gives them a young big for depth.

Houston probably matches unless its outragous, wonder if this is trying to leverage Rondo or if it indicates Rondo declined Sac.
How much cap space you got left? They will probably offer him 8-10 mil a year, although is he that much of a clear starter over Collison anyway?

Roughly, this is post-Marco and doing mental math, roughly 21-22 Million in Cap. Using Spotrac as reference and just adding Marco to it with his 3 years 19 Million.

As for him being an upgrade, defensively he would indeed be one, offensively though I believe Collison has that in the bag and chemistry wise (I know, Kings and chemistry, bleh) he has more going for him as well. Dunno who would start in that case, I do value defense higher than offense in all circumstances, but that's just me.
