I guarantee any alleged interest in David West has nothing to do with replacing TT. He'll be 35 before training camp begins.

I doubt that. We need SG and SF much more than we need a PF.

Bring West in for the vet minimum and worry about the details later. If Andy can't play and or Tristan won't sign for something that is more than fair then we make due with those who are left.

The FO may very well be concerned with Andy's future. A veteran like David West tucked away on the bench alleviates some of that.

That's not what I said.
I said they show interest for several reasons, our PF is already stacked with TT,Christmas,Varejao,Love
No way David West comes and the PF position stays the same.
the MMLE can be used elsewhere where we need it and they know it.

I don't think you can go wrong with adding talent to your roster, regardless of the position. I don't know that I would call the front court stacked, we don't have a clue what we will get from Christmas or Andy next year.

I like David West and wouldn't mind brining him in next year. I would be ALL OVER a trade that brings Markieff Morris and PJ Tucker to this team.

David West is definitely good enough to make the roster and could help us out over a long season and playoffs. If we can sign JR and get help at Guard via Haywood then West is worth the MMLE.

Anyone counting on AV making it trough a season, let alone to Christmas, is out of their mind.
West would be great depth.

ofcourse adding more talent is better but we need to add backcourt players and we have limited resources to do so, , you can't get too much players with the MMLE and Haywood, and the backcourt is far more important right now :/

West would provide a big man off the bench who can score and actually spread the floor. Although his range does not extend to the 3pt line, he has a strong midrange game. No other big other than Love currently provides that. I'd much rather have him out there than James Jones.

Love to have West. Great insurance if any of our frontcourt players go down, and I suspect Love won't be ready to go when the season starts anyway. He's a better player than anyone else you could possibly get with the MMLE.

Sure, we'd still need a backup point, but there's always the possibility that you take care of that as part of the Haywood contract, or with a subsequent trade. And I'd suspect Griff would have it all lined up before pulling the trigger anyway.

We can get a player between roughly 7-13MM for Haywood and the MMLE is 3.5MM. If West, who opted out of $12MM and is still a quality player, is willing to take $3.5MM then grab him. We still can use the larger amount on a guard.

West can pass, play defense, has a good midrange shot and he's always had a great attitude. Xavier produces good attitude players (a nun is assigned to each player to help them out). Cavs favs know all about Xavier PF (Tyrone Hill).

If we actually get West for $3.5MM that's the steal of the summer.

You only have 15 spots. Leaving flexibility for the hopefully-imminent Haywood transaction, and considering the smaller size of the game-day active list, I'm not sure another 4/5 should be our chief priority.

I don't know about that. JJ can be a spark plug off the bench. He can hit threes consecutively, LeBron likes him out there to generate instant offense, and he has a very high basketball IQ. I'd love to bring JJ back.

You are probably right but we have to consider that Andy won't be getting the minutes per game with the stacked team we will have this year. It will probably be a 10 man rotation during the regular season with Andy maybe getting on average 15 minutes per or so. It will be a way to keep him healthy in order to get him into the playoffs where he will be VERY helpful.
