In all honestly, not sure the Studio is that much better at times. It would be better if some people read up on the CBA and NBA rules before posting crazy scenarios.

Back on topic. Would like to spur a serious discussion about filling our our roster. We came into the off season with 3-4 (depends on James Jones) roster spots to fill. Maybe 5 if you think Joe Harris is expendable through the right trade.
The value is really starting to dwindle in free agency.

Lets assume that Jr and Del are back. Christmas will be given a shot to make the team, but by no means is he a given on the 15 man roster.

How would you rate the following players in terms of your wish list.
Tayshon Prince
Caron Bulter
Dorell Wright
James Jones
Josh Smith
Drew Gooden
Boozer
Amare
Jordan Hill
Glen Davis
Omeka Okafor
Marcus Thornton
John Jenkins
Luke Babbitt
Matt Bonner
Glenn Robinson Jr.
It depends if we get Joe Johnson or not. If we do, we will have scoring/creating from Mo and Johnson in the second line but we can always use an extra shooter, defender, and ball handler.
I think the summer league will tell us a lot about Harris and Christmas.. As well as Cook. (Harris a shooter to replace James Jones role, Cook a ball handler, Christmas and or Pointer a defender). I know they are young but we need young legs who bring energy too.
If the young guys don't look ready I would bring in Wright, Prince, Kahn (if Andy is gone). *If we get a create their own/scorer with Haywood.
**If we simply get a shooter like a PJ Tucker then I would get Butler and bring back JR.

Getting Green for that price was a fucking steal. Hopefully we can pull a deal like that with Dorell Wright or something.

Teams like Miami and San Antonio stay competitive because they get players to take discounts. Compare that to what is happening with some Cleveland player(s), who want to be overpaid.

[The same overpayment may limit the Cavs ability to sign players to help them win a ring, not to mention cause possible resentment from other teamates or create holdouts when it comes time for other players to get theirs (Mosgov in a year?). Dangerous precedence].

The top 3 names you mentioned are really the only ones that I can consider descent grabs for us. They aren't anything to be thrilled about, but both Prince and Butler still show they can be somewhat effective in backup roles. Dorrell Wright is fine but you can't pretend he's going to be key to any success, just has the slight chance of staying with the team longer than the other two since he's 29. If our backup guards are going to be Mo & JR, you don't really need a major contributor at SF, but I don't think we're going to find one that'll benefit us the most in free agency.

Caron Butler and Amar'e are my guys.

I see Caron as a guy who could spell LeBron for a good 5-10 minutes a game at least. As for Amar'e, his stats showed he can still play last year, and he could probably get a decent amount of playing time during the season so guys like Love and AV rest as much as possible. However, I don't see the safari reboot working out in the end.

I think Caron will end up coming here, though.

Let's do it. The reason being they want to clear room and save on tax after matching a max for ENAS KANTER that DALLAS offers.

I like the idea of having having Butler here...can never have enough tuff juice lol

paying the corpse of dwayne wade $20 million for 60 games, if you're lucky, isn't overpayment? Paying Dragic as much as kyrie irving isn't overpayment? green went to a place with no bench, where the starter in front of him is long in the tooth and will probably end up injured, thereby allowing him to get his, and try to get one more payday. some perspective is needed around here it seems.

For us, I want Dorrell. So much for targeting younger guys.
Great Answer. To me he is a younger version of James Jones who is quicker, handles the ball better and more athletic. Lets hope we get him!

Agree 100%. We have to pay market value or higher to get people to come play here. Who of notable value have we signed for vet min. No one. Would Mo come back for vet min instead of the offer we gave him? Guessing nope? We are pretty much locked into our roster for the forseeable future and if we cant get serviceable players to come for vet min, we're screwed. James is only getting older from here on out.

Amare looks like he's going to the Heat.

Id be happy with Dorell. Extremely. Is that realistic?

Of the free agents my preference would be:

Dorrell Wright
Caron Butler
and Prince.

With Wright a significant first choice and Prince a distant third. Don't like anyone else. (I did like Justin Holiday, but the Hawks just picked him up.) I Really hope they go after Wright as I think he's a very good fit.

If everyone resigns including JR, I think a Mo Williams and Dorrell Wright offseason is a significant upgrade. And other than missing out on West - which was clearly his choice - a pretty great result.

I never thought Green would take the minimum, so who knows.

Our chief recruiter there would be Mo, would played with Wright in Portland.

Probably a stretch though.
