LeBron signing on the first day that free agents can sign (and with Thompson still unsigned) means that the reports from the likes of Windhorst and Broussard that LeBron would hold out to get Thompson paid were incorrect (if not totally fabricated). Crazy thing is it became a national media story with people like Amin Elhassan arguing that what LeBron was doing was self serving...even guys on local New york radio were talking about Lebron "exerting his influence." Looks like it was all much ado about nothing.

I don't recall any cries for rule changes when Boozer screwed the Cavs. Where was the outcry for changing the procedure by which a player can lie to a team to get out of a contract and then sign elsewhere despite said promise? What Boozer did was much worse than what DJ did.

Reminds me of the outcry when we traded and re-signed Z. Despite this practice that had been going on for years, when Cleveland did it, there was sudden outcry to close that "loophole". Haven't heard boo about that loophole since.

There were rule changes after Boozer and Arenas ditched the Cavs/Warriors for greener pastures.

Once we see Christmas handle his own this weekend we will pull the trigger and give up Kahn and Verejao for Joe Johnson. My pipe dream will be a reality.
