He is a terrible defender.
While he's not a lock down defender, most of his metrics show he's still serviceable.
2015: 108 DRTG, -0.5 DBPM, 0.9 DWS, 0.4 VORP, 14.4 opponent PER, +2.9 Net 48 as a SF.
Where he has really fallen off is his ability to guard multiple positions. His limited minutes at both PF and SG were downright bad.
When he was paired with a rim protector last season (Chandler), he was part of some of the better defensive lineups Dallas had, so having a similar player in Moz bodes well.
Ultimately he's still an elite catch and shoot guy. He shot 43.2% on catch and shoot 3PT attempts and his catch and shoot EFG was a really strong 62.2%. Both those numbers compare to JR's, who was one of the best catch and shoot guys in the league last year.
I don't get super excited about someone like Jefferson but at the minimum? Absolutely. He can still play 10-12 quality minutes, which is really all we need at the SF position.
