Johnny Manziel: Swan Won't Return His Calls

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Jff and a fuckload of 1st rounders for Matt Ryan. We should just trade our first rounders every year anyways, though this year's seem diferent

1) Matt Ryan is trying to get to the playoffs right now; they're about to sign Julio Jones to a long-term contract... The offensive coordinator left last year with Johnny being part of the reason. Johnny can't throw with anticipation and you think Dan Quinn is going to have him throwing to speedy Jones?

2) The bolded is the most unrealistic argument a fan can bring to the table. NFL organizations simply cannot operate with this type of nonsensical approach to the future of their organizations. I can see a joke coming here, but it's sad that people actually think this is a viable solution to the Browns' drafting woes.

I'd spot him two a side, and I'll do a shot on every even hole and drink a beer every odd hole and I will guarantee victory. He's a chump, pure and simple. He's got the spine of an invertebrate.
He'd beat me at quarterbacking though...barely.

Seriously, the sooner we move on, the better the Browns are.

This is probably the greatest 50th post ever by any person on RCF.

Why you keep taking erryone so serious?

Does Johnny even want the job at this point? Mack played through his appendix bursting, Joe Thomas is as close to iron man as a human can get, and in the middle of a QB competition his freakin arm is sore. Every little thing that happens just pisses me off more and more we didn't take Teddy

He wasn't going to win the job because they want and believe in McCown as the starter right now. The Browns shutting him down was also a convenient way for that QB competition swell going on with the fans to die quickly.

I 100% agree with this motivation. I believe they learned from Preseason Game #2 and the madness of ManzielMania 2014. Public support for the starter is incredibly fickle when the media darling is #2. There is also a good chance his elbow hurts, but I'm buying Spydy's reasoning as a big motivating factor.

Agreed.

Still, really excited to see this high powered offense get underway.

We are discussing the starting quarterback job for the Browns... I'm surprised nobody has been shot yet.

Speaking of shots, someone was recently throwing back a lot of shots of Crown at Bar Louie in Cracker Park...I'm not saying who it was though.

I also think his elbow hurts, but no one has made it out to be as anything worse than general camp fatigue stuff that is worsened by his throwing motion.

I don't think the Browns want him to have the job.

We had heard reports of Manziel drinking within a week of getting out of rehab, not shocked.

Who really cares if he drinks or not?

As long as he stays out of the spotlight and continues to get better, him taking some shots on an off day from his job doesn't concern me by any means.
