The "What are you playing now?" Thread

Anybody get into the overwatch beta?

I wish. Blizzard made it known that the closed beta was going to be highly selective, so I didn't have high hopes to begin with. I've been opting into Blizzard betas for the better part of a decade and haven't been selected for a single one.

From what I've seen thus far, Overwatch looks incredibly fun. Pretty much everyone that has actually played it has been highly impressed. I think the game is going to be a massive success, especially if they can get the competitive scene right.

On an unrelated note, I've been playing Warhammer: End Times - Vermintide recently. The game is pretty damn fun if you have a couple friends to play with. The graphics are very well done and the gameplay itself is smooth. It's one of very few games that handles first person melee combat reasonably well, especially in the fantasy genre. I never played Left 4 Dead, but apparently it's a very similar game in how it plays.

That being said, the game has some stability issues, and my game ends up crashing a few times a night in the middle of a mission. I've contacted their tech support and they basically told me there are no solutions at the time, but they're working on it. So that's nice, I guess. :chuckle:

My gf has a friend that works at blizzard. I have never called in a favor before, but I might do it this time because the game looks fantastic. Like a melding of tf2 with heroes of the storm. I think this game can really take off because there is no e sports title similar to it.

Cs go pretty much dominates the fps scene and really has no competition.

MGS5 was so good. Just beat it. Any other games that are in the same vein that are recommended on here? It's basically the perfect game for my tastes. Far Cry too. I think I'm just really into capturing outposts...

Pretty excited to play Overwatch. I never had the slightest hope of getting into beta.

Anyone know how long Heroes was in closed beta before they opened it up?

Also, they said they'd have rush weekends where they'll flood players in to stress test the servers. So you might get in a few games before it comes out.

They have an office like 15 minutes from me, I can try knocking for you.

If anyone purchased Arkham Knight on the PC, you can probably get your money back regardless of how long you've played the game. Warner is offering a blanket refund policy to anyone who purchased the game prior to the announcement. I know Steam and Green Man Gaming are both offering no-questions-asked refunds, and I'm taking advantage of it. While I enjoyed the game and it ran well enough for me, Warner should be forced to pay for their blatant disregard for PC gamers with such a shitty and obviously rushed port. I'd advise anyone who bought the game on the PC to return it if their retailer offers. The bigger the hit to Warner's bottom line, the less likely we are to get a half-assed PC port of their next big game from a shitty third-party studio.

I've already submitted my refund request to GMG and they've processed it for me.

The best part of this is that, since I purchased it from a third-party site and not from Steam directly, I'm pretty sure I get my money back but still get to keep the game on Steam. It's certainly still showing up in my game list. :chuckle:

Regardless, it says a lot about how awful the PC version still is and how unlikely it is to ever be truly fixed that Warner is taking this step. We should take our refunds and hit them where it hurts.

Now I understand why people keep saying the Witcher 3 is so big. Velen is HUGE, and it's just one freaking zone!

Also I can already see myself getting addicted to Gwent.

I beat the updated version of Ocarina of Time on the 3DS over the weekend. I'd played it a bit on the N64 back in the day, but not to completion. This was the first Zelda game I've beaten, and I really enjoyed it (but that's not too surprising since it's one of the best games ever). I'm off to play Majora's Mask on the 3DS, and I'm interested to see what I think of it since some like it more than OoT.

Got Kerbal Space Program on sale last week, been designing probably the dumbest rockets ever trying to get into space. Currently have two dudes in orbit around Kerbin (Earth) and I have no idea how to get them back down to the surface lol. I really need to read up on how to make better rockets.

wow! That game looks awesome. And great story about its inception and development

Pretty awsome game, don't care for the loot system atm as it promotes people to keep playing Magnus of Horn to farm tomes/gilimores. Had the game since launch and still haven't played all the maps because last week everyone would only play Black Powder for the exploit now it's nothing but Horn.

Gameplay is great, since they borrowed/copied the special infected rats from left 4 dead special zombies they should apply them as they are in l4d. I can't stand the rope rat, you can't break his rope unless you kill him, can't melee the rope nothing. Left 4 Dead you were able to melee/shoot the rope and it would break with out killing the smoker(roper). Also not a fan of not being able to block the assassins jump, even if you time it right block/push back block doesn't block it at all. :(

Enjoying the game though, after a few tweaks and fixes it really should be top notch.

It is awesome. Definitely a must-have if you're into, or want to get into, physics and space exploration.

My brother in law works for ESA so it's his Christmas present sorted for a start

I am currently addicted to my 3DS, Animal Crossing New Leaf, Tomodachi Life, Fire Emblem awakening, Bravley Default, Monster Hunter 4U, SM3DL, LoZ, A link between worlds. And I just got Yo-Kai Watch and Zero Escape, Virtues last reward. And many more, I also been playing Mario Maker a lot and my poor PS4 is feeling left out. I am going to get back into the Witcher 3 and I just ordered FFX HD for the PS4. So many games so little time.

I've been playing a lot of 3DS (technically 2DS) too, but mainly because I'm trying to beat my game collection so I can sell them to buy Wii U games now that I've finally got one of those (I have Mario Maker and Wooly World right now, but want to get SM3DW, Mario Kart 8, Bayonetta 2, Wind Waker HD, Kirby, DKCTF, and possibly Splatoon and NSMBU + LU).

I had a lot of fun with OoT and am really enjoying Majora's Mask (although the novelty of reversing time is beginning to wear off as I just want to play and not re-do certain quests over and over to progress), and finally beat DKCR (that final boss is a real bitch). I tried to jump back into Pokemon Y, but it's just not happening (Which has made me leery to buy Xenoblade X even though it looks great because as much as I like the idea of playing an RPG, I always lose interest once in turns into grinding). I tried the Yo-kai Watch demo, and thought it was an interesting world but didn't like the battle system. The next one I'm excited for is the Mega man legacy collection sometime early next year.
