Fastlane Tonight - in Cleveland!

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Ugh. Let's just hope it's Ambrose then. Reigns needs to either get much much better on the mic or have someone speaking for him at all times.

The real problem with Reigns is that they're trying to force this face character on him that doesn't fit. If you listen to him in real life, he kind of sounds like a douchebag. They need to turn him heel and run with that character, as I think it would get over far better than him recapping entire plot lines for us and reading Vince's out of touch scripts.

Baron Corbin is a perfect example of a guy who this has worked for. He's a dick in real life (seriously...watch Breaking Ground...he's an asshole), so they incorporated that into his character when he wasn't getting over during his winning streak in NXT. People were booing him anyway, so they let him do some promos where he was basically himself and he turned into a pretty good heel.

Hell, the WWE's biggest hit of all-time is Steve Austin, and by all accounts that character is pretty much just an exaggerated version of Austin in real life. Sometimes you just need to let guys be themselves instead of characters.

So logical. Which makes me think the WWE is going to make Reigns start wearing a loin cloth and calling himself the Samoan Warrior.

To be honest, I would much rather have Reigns win the belt at Survivor Series than at Wrestlemania. Survivor Series used to be an important PPV but it is pointless now. Only 3 PPVs per year are worth a damn. the Rumble, Mania and Summer Slam.

The Rumble is worth something? Tbh, it's the PPV I dread the most...

Typical Reigns promo

Okay so i was like this guy
and this guy did this.

this was messed up cause you know Vince told me it was messed up.

then those guys did that one thing and i was like "woah"
really . like its so messed up you need to understand. im gonna go get a burger. you can believe that.

I think this would be a perfect time to have sheamus get the title

The Rumble is worth something? Tbh, it's the PPV I dread the most...

The Rumble is indicative of who the WWE plans to push going into Wrestlemania, so in that respect it's probably the second most important PPV of the year, with Summerslam coming in third. Survivor Series is a distant fourth, although it should probably be more important than it is given its placement as the final major PPV before the Rumble.

I think this would be a perfect time to have sheamus get the title

There is no perfect time for Sheamus to get the title. If they want a heel to have it, either give it to Owens or have Ambrose or Reigns join the Authority.

Giving Sheamus the briefcase in the first place was a huge mistake for the WWE. They really should have given it to Ambrose. I know he wasn't in the match, but he would have been the perfect choice. He's young, totally over with the crowd, above average on the mic, and a good worker (not on the level of Rollins, Owens, or Cesaro, but he's solid). Honestly, even Reigns would have been a better choice. He wasn't ready during that PPV after crashing and burning during the Rumble and Mania, but the WWE was obviously going to push him anyway sometime during the next year. Why not give him the briefcase, work on getting him over for the next six to eight months, and then have him cash in and win?

Sheamus, to me, represents the old guard. He's a guy they tried to push and failed. That may not be entirely his fault, but other guys have since passed him, and thus giving him the briefcase was a bad decision. The MitB briefcase, in my opinion, should always go to a young guy that deserves a main event push sometime in the next year. That match should be a battle of the young and hungry, plus Kofi because he we know he's not winning but he always has a couple of good spots in him.

---

Dean Ambrose basically represents the problem with the modern WWE. He got over based on the strength of his matches (again, not the best in-ring guy in the company, but you can depend on him for *** and better affairs...he's like Tyler Breeze in that regard, only he jobs less) and his solid promo skills. He was exactly the type of guy that would have gotten pushed in the Attitude Era because the powers that be saw the writing on the wall. The fans chose him, and so the WWE would push him.

But instead, Vince decided that Roman Reigns was going to be the next big face, and fuck the fans if they disagree. Vince no longer cares about what the fans want. He only cares about what he wants to see, and he forces that vision on us regardless. The only time he takes notice of the fans if during the Rumble and Wrestlemania, because those are the two PPVs watched by the most people, and closing either with a sea of boos makes the company look bad. Beyond that, he gives less than a fuck about the fans, and that's why the ratings are tanking.

Your job, as an entertainment company, is to give the fans what they want...not what you want. Sometimes those things overlap, and sometimes you have to go another direction to subvert expectations, but the problem with the WWE is that they basically don't give a shit what the fans want, and Dean Ambrose basically embodies that. There's no reason that he shouldn't have won the title in the past year, and it's insane that he got demoted from the main event picture to be Reigns' sidekick for the past four months.

Reigns wins the tourney, beats Ambrose in the finals, Ambrose attacks Reigns to turn heel, BROTTTTHAA???

Anonymous, the loose collective of online activists, said Saturday it has uncovered information about Islamic State group attacks in Paris as well as at locations in the U.S., Indonesia, Italy and Lebanon, all apparently set for Sunday. OpParisIntel, a group within Anonymous, released a statement saying it had collected information about imminent attacks by the militant group -- aka Daesh, ISIL and ISIS -- in the French capital a little more than a week after a series of coordinated attacks there left 130 dead and hundreds injured.

Anonymous also said the Islamic State group is planning an assault at the WWE Survivor Series event scheduled to take place in the Philips Arena in Atlanta Sunday at 7.30 p.m. EST, as well as attacks at multiple events in Paris.

The collective published the list of potential targets alongside a statement: "The goal is to make sure the whole world, or at least the people going to these events, know that there have been threats and that there is possibility of an attack to happen. Another goal is to make sure Daesh knows that the world knows and cancels the attacks, which will disorientate them for a while."

The targets listed by Anonymous are as follow:

  • Cigales Electroniques with Vocodecks, RE-Play & Rawtor at Le Bizen (Paris)
  • Concrete Invites Drumcode: Adam Beyer, Alan Fitzpatrick, Joel Mull at Concrete (Paris)
  • Demonstration by Collectif du Droit des Femmes (Paris)
  • Feast of Christ the King celebrations (Rome/Worldwide)
  • Al-Jihad, One Day One Juz (Indonesia)
  • Five Finger Death Punch (Milan)
  • University Pastoral Day (Holy Spirit University of Kaslik, Lebanon)
According to Anonymous: "We only appeared now because our goal was to remain undercover and report everything to the right authorities and let them take all the action. But when authorities do not take action, Anonymous does. This part of the op started last Monday and has [been] and will be active 24 hours a day as long as the op is going on."

Speaking to International Business Times, Anonymous said it had passed proof to the MI5 intelligence agency in the U.K., the CIA and FBI in the U.S., and the Australian government but that it has no plans to release the proof publicly. "If we share the proof [publicly], everyone will start calling it fake because screenshots can be edited and accounts can be deleted. We have purposely not shared account links publicly because they would be shut down immediately and then no one would believe the proof."

Anonymous declared war on the Islamic State group last week, vowing to track it down online as part of its Operation Paris (or OpParis). It has since released a guide for all those looking to take part in the operation, which already has identified tens of thousands of Twitter accounts it said are associated with the militant group while also taking some websites offline. The Islamic State group has responded to the threat by Anonymous, warning of a retaliatory attack on the activist group.

Clearly they've never tried to sneak anything into an American sporting event before. Good fucking luck.

Could anyone else totally see the WWE turning this into an angle? Fake ISIS troops attack during the main event, but Roman Reigns valiantly fights them all off, pins Ambrose, and wins the title while a giant American flag descends from the rafters and billows in the background.

Survivor Series predictions!

Dolph Ziggler Vs. Tyler Breeze w/ Summer Rae
On paper this seems like it should be a really good match, but the WWE has done absolutely nothing to make me care about it. I don't really even understand why these two are feuding. I guess because Dolph turned Summer down? I don't know or care. Either way, Breeze has to win this, right? Remember a year ago when Dolph Ziggler was the sole survivor, one of the biggest faces on the roster, and ran the Authority out of the WWE? Yeah, the WWE doesn't either. Breeze wins.

Roman Reigns Vs. Alberto Del Rio - WWE Title Tournament Semi-Finals
cc4.gif

You get the idea. Reigns wins, and based on Del Rio's last couple of bouts, this match is going to suck.

Kevins Owens Vs. Dean Ambrose - WWE Title Tournament Semi-Finals
This is easily the toughest match on the card to predict. It really could go either way. If they want Reigns to win clean as a face, Owens makes the most sense. If Ambrose wins, either him or Reigns has to turn heel in or after the main event, right? This will probably end up being the match of the night if these guys are given enough time. Owens is a tremendous worker and Ambrose, while not spectacular, is solid. I was looking forward to these guys having a fun IC title feud before Rollins got hurt, and it's nice that Owens is finally being given a chance to work with guys who can actually move. His Ryback matches were just boring because of Ryback's limitations. I'm gonna go with my gut and say Ambrose wins, simply because I think the WWE will milk the "best friends" angle heading into the main event.

Charlotte (c) Vs. Paige - Diva's Title Match
I'm not sure I could care less about this feud. That said, this could actually be a decent match. Paige was really good in NXT, as was Charlotte during her title run there. Neither has been very impressive on the main roster, but it's hard to tell if that's booking or just the general shittiness of the competition. Hopefully we get an NXT throwback match and both of these girls look like they did in the better promotion. Either way, Charlotte is walking out with the belt. She's holding that belt until Sasha takes it from her.

Brothers of Destruction Vs. the Wyatt Family
The WWE hasn't even bothered to tell us which two members of the Wyatt family are even contending in this match. Does that mean they'll introduce a new member? Probably not, but that would be about the only thing that would make this match interesting. This whole story has been stupid. They built up Wyatt one week like a monster who could steal peoples' souls, then the next week Kane and Taker showed up and easily beat his ass. We know the Undertaker is winning this match, so whatever.

Roman Reigns (definitely) Vs. Dean Ambrose (probably) - WWE Title Tournament Finals
I'm going to hold out hope that the WWE does something interesting with this match and turns one of these guys heel (preferably Roman, but I doubt it). If this is just a straight face/face match with a show of mutual respect after Reigns inevitably wins, it will be both boring and disappointing. Reigns winning seems pretty obvious, so I'm going to stick with that. Prepare yourselves for some really awful twenty minute Raw promos, fellas.

Supposedly there's also going to be a traditional Survivor Series elimination tag match, but since the WWE didn't even care enough to announce the people involved in it, there's not really a point in me predicting it. I'm guessing it'll involve the New Day and the Usos.

Kind of insane that there's only six matches on this card besides the elimination tag match. Either they're going to use that elimination match to eat a ton of time or all of these matches are going to be pretty long.

Most predictable 5 on 5 match the WWE could've ever created

This is about to be a waste of everyone's 45 mins

this ppv has the potential to be a first thirty last thirty ppv, which is AWFUL.

How does Survivor Series have ONE SS match?

And both those 30 are going to have Roman Reigns... The divas match was aa joke. Charlotte has been pretty damn bad since she moved to the main roster.
