Zeitgeist - was 9/11 was an inside job?

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Actually I did, dipshit. Had to take a full engineering load which is required of everyone at the Academy. So yeah, a year or more each of thermodynamics, structural engineering, systems engineering, electrical engineering, physics, 4 semesters of post-calculus math, so yeah.

Dipshit? Ha.. hit a nerve did I?

Let's just get down to it.. You think that a year or more spread out among all of those topics qualifies you for such a conversation above anyone else off the street? Are you fucking kidding? :chuckle:

Do you have any idea just how ridiculous you sound?

Saying that someone who is taking their required prerequisite courses to complete the Naval Academy would be equivalent to someone who majored in these topics in pursuit of a science based degree is a joke.

You took your prereqs, what 50 years ago, and you're telling me that alone qualifies you somehow? I don't think so.

Argue your case on the merits, or not at all. That's what I say.

But you don't have to be a fucking Ph.D to know that a fist isn't a plane, and a steel and concrete reinforced building isn't a piece of Styrofoam. I'm not an expert in those fields, but I know enough to recognize a bogus argument.

And you've asserted the ridiculous styrofoam argument to me, to bolster your own claims? I'm simply calling you out on your absence of evidence argument which is facetious at best. The only reason you decided to respond this time was because I think you know you're out of your depth on these topics.

Yeah, I've heard your line of bullshit before - can't believe I was dumb enough to "click on ignored member"....

Right...

You're the Black guy who speaks for all Black guys when that's convenient to your argument.

I speak for all Black guys? Like the 60% of Blacks who support Hillary Clinton? I'm just like them, huh?

You're the Arab guy who speaks for all Arab guys when that's convenient.

I speak for all Arabs? Really, even those guys in ISIS too, huh?

You're the non-Muslim Muslim whose word trumps whatever any other Muslim leader says, anywhere.

You mean, I understand Islam and come from a Muslim background and can relate to Muslims; which is something you don't really understand or appreciate?

You're a world renowned statistician, political scientist, theoretical physicist, structural engineer, and an expert on whatever other subject is brought up.

Actually I'm none of those things and I've never claimed to be. I've always said I never got my Ph.D, and I've always said that anything I say can and should be fact-checked; I could be wrong. The reason you don't like this is because you want your opinion to be accepted as fact, without discourse and without any reason to believe you know what you're talking about.

Yet for some reason, you continue to assert this argument, time and again, that you know more than anyone else on these topics, yet here we are, with you claiming that "you're no expert!"

That's your go to line anytime you get called out for saying things when it's obvious you have no idea what you're talking about.

In the Middle East based threads, you've proven time and again you have no idea what you're talking about; going so far as to claim that Palestine was historically Egyptian territory and they should just go back to where they came from. Or to the point where the Iranian revolution had to be explained to you by myself and two other posters. Or to the point where you finally put me on ignore, or so you claim, because you kept getting exposed as presenting arguments without any factual evidence.

You're a shoot from the hip pseudo-thinker, who is far beyond the point of actually processing new information and learning new things, but instead feels the inclination to post on topics with which you have no factual basis for your flawed opinions.

We know this, because you tell everyone how much everyone else respects your opinion.

Actually I don't, yet again, you continue to assert this. Inferiority complex, maybe, I'm not sure. But I could post ten different posts of mine where I state quite openly "I am not a Ph.D, and I am not an expert in this field."

Am I a structural engineer? No. A political scientist? No, never studied it. Am I a world-renowned statistician? No.

I've never claimed to be any of these things, so why do you feel so distraught and small when compared to me?

Surprised you have the time to post at all given how much you must jerk-off at your own magnificence.

I do find it amazing that you are so intimidated by someone over the internet. If you've studied and retained all the information you would have in an engineering track through a series of undergraduate, we can have an advanced conversation about these topics.

The problem is that whenever I try to do that, in an academic way, you lash out and get upset. I think that's largely because you're afraid to realize your not as smart as you think, and you don't want everyone else to come to the same conclusion.

@The Oi

Ugh, wish I hadn't clicked on that....

I bet you don't.

Ruined your day for someone to call you out on your bullshit. Again, who are you trying to fool?

p.s.

BTW, in all seriousness. I am curious, what were those 4-semesters of "post-calculus" math?

I'd very very interested in hearing you tell me you feel comfortable in your understanding of and can explain to anyone (not necessarily me) the concepts of differential equations and/or linear algebra; because that would mean you're a lot more knowledgeable than I would have guessed, given what you've explained of your background.

And that's really the beauty of maths and physics in general, we don't need to go back and forth like this, we can talk about these things through the sciences we're referencing. If you feel that you're equipped for that conversation, then let's have at it.. I'm more than eager to have a real academic conversation about the topics you've raised.

Are these things required to discuss these topics? No, not at all.. But when you claim that "well, it'd take too long to explain it, and most people just wouldn't understand it" (your line not mine), then I think that calls into question what you're talking about; because that is inherently an argument from a position of authority that you do not hold.

Why does this guy feel so intimidated by me? Like, what is the problem?

It's prob'ly cuz yer gettin' all mathy with him.

Don't be that guy.

I'm never that guy.. Honestly, folks can go through my posts, I never ever assert expertise. I always explain what I mean, in exact terms, even offering examples in maths or code; stuff that is falsifiable.

I'm literally the guy that helps posters (numerous folks) with their physics and math homework and independent studies. I do this not through saying "go tell your professor its because Gourimoko says so," but through thoughtful explanations.

So I do take exception to folks claiming some level of deep understanding and then failing to explain how or why we should accept that understanding. That's not science, that's pontification.

It's really too bad there's no way to get paid for what I do.

I'm Michael Jordan at this.

You shouldn't have said anything, though, it would have gotten funnier.

@gourimoko @The Oi

The important thing to remember in this thread is that Damage needs a better explanation of how the towers collapsed...

...because...

...a 10'x5' styrofoam statue would just topple over...

...like a game of Jenga

Lol, I just read this entire thread.

Apparently people weren't put in there place around here in 2008 like they are now.
