I wonder if people are underrating Shump. He's a 40% three point shooter (lately at least) who can defend on the perimeter with both quick feet and some size (6'5, 220). You can't have enough of that kind of flexible wing in today's NBA it seems to me. It's true he played poorly on offense against GS last year and was sort of OK/mediocre on defense, but he played good defense in 2015 against the Warriors so he does have the ability.
I really like Ricky Rubio and I think all things considered he would be more valuable for us than Shump, but you toss in the other players and maybe it is a lateral move.
