If he buys in and gets engaged, I like his potential at beating up 2nd units. Problem is JC isn't the best teammate to play with.

Surprised so many haven't learnt from having Kyrie on this team for so many years. Sexton is a score-first PG, like nearly every star PG in this league. Right now, he doesn't have anywhere near the quality around him to be stuffing his assist numbers, just like Kyrie in the early years. Team needs him to score and that's what he's trying to do.
Kyrie's only putting up higher assist numbers now that he's in a system @ Boston and surrounded by studs.
He doesn't have "tunnel vision" like JC - who flat out refuses to pass the ball. He's just learning the game and falling back on his strengths. He isn't Jason Kidd, but the kid can learn how pass to wide open shooters in time. What he can't learn is how to score the ball - that's something he's learnt organically and will continue to build his game around.
