Not liking these DC options. At this point we should just hire a hot position coach on the rise.

Now Spagnuolo is not a guy I would be interested in.

I don't know a whole lot about Wilks but I've been hearing Panthers fans praising him all year and saying how they wished they could get him back.

lol @ AZ hiring Sark. Good thing Rosen doesn’t need football.

Poor...poor Rosen and DJ...

Bidwell really charging hard at that "Worst Owner In Pro Sports" crown...

The offense hasn't been the problem in ATL, Quinn can't seem to get a defense together down there.

You haven't been paying attention if you think it wasn't a problem.

Red Zone offense was miserable under Sark.

As for Spags...I'd rather have Spags than Wilks, honestly.

I'm not a fan of this because the Browns are most likely going to be employing two of those already at HC and OC.

If Kitchens is calling plays (I think this is expected) AND preparing for each game as the head coach, common sense would suggest he's going to need to find a quality teacher to rely on instilling his system to the players in the day-to-day operation.

I think it's also reasonable to believe that with Kitchens executing all of these responsibilities that he should be looking for a defensive coordinator who can operate with autonomy. For this reason, I'd rather trust someone who's done the job in the past and performed well. I know it's easy to get caught up in the failures of these guys as head coaches, but that's not the job they're being hired for here.

Give me someone who can teach the offense as the offensive coordinator, and give me a DC who Kitchens can trust to handle 95% of the defensive responsibilities as Freddie adjusts to his own added ones.

Two sources told The Athletic that the Browns’ search for a special teams coordinator has centered around Mike Priefer, who holds the same role with the Vikings. Priefer has spent the past eight seasons with the Vikings and has 17 years of NFL experience after previously working for the Broncos and Chiefs. Priefer was born in Cleveland but moved frequently as the son of a coach; his father, Chuck, spent 17 years as an NFL assistant. Mike Priefer’s time with the Chiefs did not overlap with John Dorsey’s time as Chiefs’ general manager.

Why? I think they are going about it the right way. You just hired a HC with limited administrative experience, seems like hiring a DC with either past head coaching experience or extensive experience in the upper ranks of coaching is what Freddie needs to help support him throughout the transition. I don't think it's a coincidence that they have talked to Pagano, Joseph, Wilks, ect. See a theme? Dorsey gets it.
