They settled to create positions that men could also take and to begin hiring for them in a gender neutral fashion, which hadn't been the case until they got sued. I wouldn't call 3.7m getting laughed out of court in any eventThe settlement didn't affect Hooters policy of hiring only women to be servers. Defense won that issue on motion. They settled claims relating to non-serving positions.

See editYou may not be aware of the background....
Awhile back, the EEOC found probable cause that Hooters was violating anti-discrimination laws by not letting men be servers, and demanded Hooters stop or they'd get sued. Hooters fired back aggressively -- they took out large advertisements in major papers showing fat hairy dudes in Hooters costumes, and saying that's what the EEOC was trying to force upon the American people. It was a ballsy move, but it worked. The EEOC became the butt of jokes, and backed off. For obvious reasons, it got a lot of publicity at the time.
That is the more famous case for obvious reasons, and supports the proposition that some jobs are more suited for members of one gender than another. It's a rejection of the idea that everything should be 50%, or even that there should be open gender access period.
The case to which you are referring was basically a run of the mill gender case that didn't implicate that issue.
@2 For The Brew how is it not related to politics?
My dog isn't politics, I can't reiterate this enoughNBA is in the private sector.
You REALLY believe THIS??? It is a mulit- BILLION dollar business... the people who run the government, run the NBA. Lets wake up and smell the coffee and stop living in Disney Land. Its ALL politics. Its all about money and agendas to manipulate and control. The love of money is the root of all evil.. you dont give your life to a multi-billion dollar business because you dont love money.. big money draws the snakes. slimy people.. but apparently, theres a poster or 2 on RCF that think everything is peaches and cream and all is as it seems. What a joke. People are so gullible. Liars LOVE those types.
I dont agree with the totalitarian concept that everything is political.
But everything IS politics.. EVERYTHING .. and the common folk is the prey.
This can be argued.. but its not that serious. My dog isn't politics, I can't reiterate this enough
Fuck that, do it. She is apolitical. Tired of your shit noobThis can be argued.. but its not that serious.

look noob don't get triggered and get hurt feelings. If you don't have an argument to convince me that my dog is political than you'll just have to be a snowflake noob with poor argumentational skills. And that's not so bad, as I'm sure you're aware
Did I hurt your feelings with that one?
"noob"? in what sense? To RCF? Thats a minor thing. Barely anything. Actually, completely irrelevant. As if me being a "new poster" makes my views any less relevant or significant than yours or anybody elses.
You think your post history is more relevant than what somebody actually says? Not sure how you measure substance.

Stop deflecting and let's hear it. Or I can just push you around a bit. Knock you down.
I think it was you that got "triggered" when i said your dog being politics can be argued... dont be so sensitive.. lol
I said, "it can be argued"... and arguments do not require anybody being convinced.. an argument is and i quote, "an exchange of diverging or opposite views"...
nowhere is "convince" in the definition. So your use of English grammar is already greatly erred. Not exactly how you "win an argument", nor "convince" the opposition, and certainly not how you, "push somebody around", nor "knock them down"...
No need to deflect..
