The Official Game of Thrones [A Song of Ice and Fire] Thread (includes spoilers)

Also, I'd say there's about a 99.99999% chance we're going to see an Arya Stark spin-off.

Yep and it only expands the universe if they do so. There will be stories of whatever Arya finds and they can tell the stories of those people.

I do think the fates of the Starks will be similar in the books. After all, the original (and far superior) title of the last book was A Time For Wolves. Well, I guess we now know what that means. Bran is king of the southern half of Westeros, Sansa queen of the northern half, and Jon is (seemingly) king beyond the Wall.

I think the fates of Cersei and Jaime will be radically different, though. Euron too, obviously. Given that they likely gave a big chunk of his role to the Night King, I can see Arya being the one to kill him.

I'm rewatching the episode and the part where Arya tells Yara to stop talking about killing Jon or she will slit her throat is great. She gives her this death stare after.

Basically Arya is one of the scariest people in the realm at this point because she snuck up on the night king and killed him.

But don’t you know...everything Bran the omniscient did or didn’t do was designed to get him to this end.

It’s like they gave the MVP to some guy who sat the whole Finals on the bench.

IGOUDALA FROM OUT OF NOWHERE! Though he deserved it more than Bran :chuckle:

They could have made him seem like the right choice but D&D spent the entire season making him look like someone who would stare at women doing yoga in the gym... While not wearing workout clothes. Sipping on a beer.

But cheers to Sansa for playing the game so well. Manipulating everyone and always counting on Tyrion to betray and Jon to do the honorable dumb-ass thing on cue.

Queen of da Norf! indeed.

Guess what will be on the menu at the coronation banquet?

She also completely wiped out house Frey, although no idea how many people know about it.

Bran's point of view storylines are so good in the books. I'm purely happy he is the king at the end. I feel like it was George RR Martin's plan from the beginning.

It's just poor character development of Bran from D&D. They just weren't willing to burn the CGI budget on Bran's visions and warging.

It would have been nice if they actually built him up that way in the show.

Remember how he just disappeared for like a whole season? :chuckle: What was up with that?

It never seemed like they knew what to do with his character, especially since they cut so much of the magical stuff from the show. It's why him ending up as king seems so out of nowhere, because the Bran we know has pretty much just been an emotionless asshole for the past two or three seasons.

I think I saw a thing that D&D were out of Bran's source material from the books and were hoping that Winds would be ready for season six. When it wasn't they just had to improvise with his stuff knowing that he'd end up on the throne at the end.

You'll notice that Bran's story was pretty solid/interesting up until season six too, then it got confusing super quick.

I think D&D just weren't creative enough to keep building Bran's character out. The whole Hodor to hold the door might be one of the greatest twists to a story ever.

I also don't think Meera Reed will be a forgotten character in the books.

My prediction was right. Literally nothing happen. D&D took a big fucking shit for an hour and 20 minutes.

The first and last episodes of this season were satisfying: but man they screwed around in the middle
