No inside info, but I guess today they either announce OSU vs Maryland or 5-0 OSU can play in the B1G Title game.

Personally, I want a game this week. Dont care if it's Maryland, Illinois, Purdue, IU (again), or out of conference. This team needs reps.

My favorite idea is playing NW for the Championship this weekend and then trying again with Michigan next weekend. But it wont happen, unfortunately.
 
Has the Maryland game with Rutgers this weekend been cancelled?

Don’t worry, at least we didn’t have to change the rules to be eligible;)

No Indiana fan will be surprised by this. We know there’s no way in hell that the conference won’t find a way to get OSU in the conference title game. I usually don’t have anything against OSU but I’ll laugh if they still get left out of the playoff after this stunt.

No, but the Big Ten can tell Rutgers to take the week off (they've already played all 7 possible games thus far) and reschedule Maryland/Rutgers for next weekend. Which would also allow the Big Ten to make up the canceled Wisconsin/Minnesota game.

No Indiana fan should be upset about this. OSU/IU played, and OSU won. It was a 35-7 game before OSU took their foot off the gas. I'd understand the argument if all 3 of OSU's cancelations were on them, but how is it fair that Maryland and Michigan had covid outbreaks the weeks of those scheduled games. OSU cant control that, they cant control the fact the B1G is too goddamn lazy to allow them to find another opponent in those weeks, and they cant control the season starting a month and a half later than the rest of the country. As an IU fan, be fucking grateful OSU (and Nebraska) pushed the B1G so hard otherwise there may not have been a season at all. And IU wouldn't even be in this position of being a top 10ish team. Ohio State's season has been fucked and it's 100% on the Big Ten. Finding them a 6th game for this weekend or changing that stupid ass rule (that no other conference has) is the least they can do to make up for the rest of their transgressions.

IU lost to Ohio State by 7 points and had a chance to tie the game on their last possession. Your defense got carved up by Michael Penix to the tune of 491 yards and 5 touchdowns. Was that because they “took their foot off the gas”?

It’s not like Ohio State hasn’t had its own Covid issues this year. They chose to cancel the game against Illinois. If they hadn’t done that then they’d already have 6 conference games and this wouldn’t even be a discussion. You want the rules changed to benefit your team and that’s the bottom line. If OSU was just going to cry to change the rules at the end of the season, IU should’ve just canceled its game against Ohio State. They’d be sitting at 6-0 right now and heading to the conference championship.

Doesn't matter, IU still lost. And Ohio State only lost 1 game due to COVID, and Illinois was canceled at the last minute to preserve MSU and Michigan. Which would've worked out if Michigan had not had an outbreak. It's not about changing the rules to benefit my team. It's what's right. This isn't some long standing rule. It was a rule for just this year and other rules have changed throughout the season. The ACC just did away with additional games to favor Clemson and Notre Dame.

Do you really expect me to believe that if this was a 5-0 Michigan trying to change the rules to get in over a 6-1 Ohio State, Ohio State fans would think that letting Michigan in would be the right thing to do? Because I’m sorry, but I very much doubt that that would be the case. There’s nothing wrong with wanting to change the rules to benefit your team. I want to keep them to benefit mine. I just don’t get the reluctance to admit it.

I honestly don't believe that, but hey I don't know you so maybe you would be fine with it. But saying you'd be fine with it when it's just a hypothetical, and being fine with it when it's actually happening, are very different situations.
