Andrew Berry has been leaving players swooning over him after meeting with him. If Hopkins meets with Berry, Watson, and Stefanski and there isn't a huge difference in what we offer vs. other teams, I think we'll get him.

I still recall a few long drawn out summers waiting for a big name free agent to finally sign. Gerald McCoy and Dez Bryant in 2019, for example. Some of this Watkins Watch is just excitement over the unknown. He may just end up an old man who isn't as good as his reputation.

Makes sense. If the cost is too high then it's too high. With what happened with Deshaun I wouldn't rule anything out, though. Berry has that magic.

I think Hopkins would be very interested in playing with Deshaun again but he feels this is his last chance at a big payday.

That was 100% Jimmy Haslam writing a check no other owner would

I hate Haslam but he deserves every last bit of credit for Watson being here
I like Haslam a lot - don't think we could ask much more from him right now.

But I also don't think it was 100% the money that brought Deshaun to Cleveland. I've heard how well respected Berry is around the league with agents and other front offices. I've no doubt that Berry's relatability and reputation played a role in getting Deshaun, along with the team's roster.

Well there’s no way we will ever know for sure but I think people underplay just how over the top aggressive our offer was

Berry can be as respected as anyone but we were the highest guaranteed money by a ton. I really don’t think there’s any more to it than that. There’s a reason he originally ruled out the browns

Seems like a Hopkins move is tied to an offseason injury to one of the top 3 (Moore, DPJ, Cooper) otherwise the cap + roster crunch + target share has always been the concern..

The Good O-Line and Nick Chubb probably helped given his experience in Houston.

I know Watson is looking good in practice when Zac Jackson has to write about it.

If Lloyd has to write an article about Watson looking good, he might be back back.
