Right or wrong, York is not getting cut before the season.
He might get cut in the first month of the season, hell it might happen after the first game. But he's going to be given the opportunity to succeed or fail in games that actually count before they cut the cord.
For our sake as fans, if he does implode to the point of getting cut, hopefully it happens in a game that the Browns either win or a game where they get blown out and his misses weren't the reason they lost.
I don't see why it's inconceivable that he's let go on cut down day. There are viable, veteran kickers on the market today that don't need a camp to prove anything.Right or wrong, York is not getting cut before the season.

Shit! I did 3/7.His kicking is almost as bad as your math!

I know they drafted York so there is an allegiance there but if he's not the guy, jeopardizing even 1 regular season games seems irresponsible.
Ok and I will concede there is some pressure in the joint practices because he's fighting for his job but there is no pressure like game action when TV cameras are on you and the fans can see you. The issue with York is not with his foot, his leg, his form etc. The issue is with his confidence and if he can't make kicks on the field when all eyes are on him, he can't be on this roster.Everything we've heard from the people covering the team has basically stated that Cade York has been flawless in practice and his only misses have been in games. The games matter more but they're still just Preseason games.
Some people even value the joint practices more than the preseason games. The players play more snaps in the joint practices than the preseason games. The coaches are able to simulate more real game situation in the joint practices than the actual preseason games for the majority of the roster. I think it was Joel Bitonio who said after the joint practices with PHI that guys will easily play 70+ snaps in joint practices and they wouldn't see that much action through 4 preseason games. Cade York made every kick in the joint practices. He's only missed 1 kick all though Training Camp. I know it's just practice but overall he hasn't been terrible. That's probably why the team is sticking with him.
Another reason why they're probably sticking with him is because he's not missing badly. You can immediately dissect why he missed. If he waa shanking kicks by 5 yards he'd probably already be gone.

He made 3 kicks yesterday.
And missed 2 when the pressure was onHe made 3 kicks yesterday.
He was 60%!!! That’s still pretty good to the real Cavs fans kicking enthusiasts!!!And missed 2 when the pressure was on
Not getting into the frey over if he should be cut or not, but his stat line has him 3-4 fg and 1-1 xp yesterday. Did I miss something that didn't show in the box score (didn't get to watch the game) .And missed 2 when the pressure was on
