2024 Cleveland Browns Off-Season Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
He started 16 games at center the year the Rams won the Super Bowl, graded out really well on PFF, and was a Pro Bowler.

That earned him a 3 year, 24M extension the following spring.

But then he had a really poor and injury plagued 2022 season (just 5 games played) and was, perhaps surprisingly given his contract, beat out in camp for the starting center job in 2023.
Sounds like a solid backup

Our second unit line is going to be just as good as some teams first unit line..

Interesting signing as they just drafted Wypler last year..

Seems like they’d like to get some of these guys in camp and hope they stick around on PS once season starts given the familiarity..

They seemed happy to play Wypler at guard.

Maybe they like interior linemen who they feel can play center or guard? Give more positional flexibility?

Also, with Zinter's dimensions, would it be possible to play him at tackle in a pinch? Let's say 2 of Dawand/Conklin/Wills go down. I wouldn't mind seeing Zinter with his pass protection skills get a chance.

Seems like Berry has to get burned before he learns a lesson

Zinter played guard in college be cause his arm length and hand size aren't ideal for a tackle, despite his measured height and weight. He also has some trouble recovering in space. That said, there's a lot to like about him as the third guard. I see him as a potential starter down the road where Wypler might be a career reserve.

Perhaps we could offer them the vacant space between your ears?

(Kidding. I think.)

Brook Park isn't attractive. It's a ploy. If the team moves there, I'll eat a hat.
Oh, I guarantee you, it's not a ploy.

It's getting done. The only proposals on the table are new dome in Brook Park or stadium renovation on the same stadium. And it's not a viable option

If Conklin can somehow stay healthy our oline depth is crazy. If not it doesn’t matter how many centers or guards we have, tackles are the most important position on the line.

Looks like the proposal is retractable roof if I’m seeing it correctly.

Anyone know the purpose/benefit of digging the stadium into the ground like they’re proposing?

Cleveland Browns Field at Cabela's.

Looks like they were going for a pseudo factory look (since that is the former site of a car manufacturer that no one remembers). Good idea, but at least from this angle, it's a miss. But it's a workable concept.

Also: I love how they just went crazy and added a small forest where a rapid station and freeway are lol. Who did this mockup, Bob Ross?

I think the NFL is trying to get away from 100% turf, moving all surfaces towards at least a blend of grass and turf.

This means that if you want to build a roof, either the roof moves or the turf moves.

It also could be a lot of other reasons. Since this is just a mock-up that the city of Cleveland has to respond to, why not ask for everything on your wish list?
