This is one qualm I have with the whole process surrounding Amar'e and Miami.
Everyone brings up that Kerr and Ferry are such great friends. Ultimately, Kerr would tell Ferry if the deal wasn't going to go through. Yes, he wants more talent because he is the GM of the team and does not want to get fired because the owner screwed the team up and put them in a position where he needs to save money.
If someone comes at them with a better deal, Kerr will tell Ferry, "Hey, you gotta come up with something better or else we are going to move on."
In which case, I'm guessing Ferry already has his mind made up on what they can do, which will probably revolve around J-Rich's contract. They don't want to take it on, but if someone else can, I'm sure we will, unless we can get Jamison w/o involving JJ.
Everything I read, gives me more and more confidence in our FO and more importantly, our GM.
HAVE FAITH FELLAS...He knows what he's doing.
